I dont think our budget will stretch to new so can anyone recommend somewhere reliable for a preloved timepiece by Cartier?
JLC is the best bang for the bucks in high end mechanical watches. I know nothing about quartz watches.@Dancing Fire would be appalled at me, a self proclaimed “watch collector”, having Quartz watches but for the Jaeger I made an exception as it only came in Quartz.
Manual wind vintage or Automatic are “true watches” and amazing pieces of craftsmanship especially once you get into the “complications” (that’s extra functions like moon phase etc). Watches at the “pointy end” of pricing can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Oh I highly recommend giving yourself the faux Cartier experience at home! Mine was a 40th bday gift to myself@Bron357 that watch is gorgeous I understand making the exception.
My budget is fairly small up to maybe 2000USD and I love the look of the Cartier pieces. I have a couple of months to hunt one down before my anniversary.
I had dreams of going into Cartier and buying one new and all the fuss and pomp that goes with it
Might have to make one of my daughters serve me champagne and pretend when it arrives lol
Have you seen the new Tanks? If you were able to save up a little bit more they are around $2600 new, with a leather strap rather than SS. There’s also a new solar version coming out, similar price, which apparently has a battery that will last 16 years!
Thanks @Snowdrop13 I was looking at them both and cannot see a huge amount of difference so will probably go with the small as I like the smaller look on the bracelet.
I would really love an Americaine but budget won't stretch to that
In another forum I have a lot of people saying the panthere but I just feel I may regret that as much as I love it right now. It just isn't as timeless IMO
@kipari I did look at some Rolex watches but I don't like the round watches the square/rectangular shape is what I love
The Rolex is the only round shape I like.... And I still prefer the tank for wear...
