I was out of the house for a few hours killing time while some legal work was being done that required my absence. I was sitting on the steps at Tiffany soho with my iPad. Suddenly,or at least after I pressed the right combination of keys, this 6.14 carat chrysoberyl popped into my lap! 8.2 x 10.8 x 7 mm

Bah! I saw that on one of their posts on Facebook and was in love.

Ricezo- Those ammies are gorgeous! I like that they are very vibrant and not too light or too dark. They look wonderful on you.

Confection10- Congrats on your beautiful stones! I love how they glow in the sunlight and the Rhodolite is so interesting with how it changes based on the lighting. Which lighting do you like it best in?

Vapidlapid- How exciting to purchase such a large Chrysoberyl. Cannot wait for pics!

I've been a bad boy and broken my self-initiated ban on colored stones until 2016. I have will power in many facets of my life, but apparently shiny gems is not one of them.

On its way to me:

Oval chrysoberyl with (hopefully color-wise) matching pear earring stones
Cushion cut Namibian demantoid - Technically this is a birthday present from my fiance so it doesn't count, right?
Round 7mm blue zircon off ebay to fill a cheapie sterling setting I have laying around for my fiance

And I'm tempted to purchase a tanzanite trillion to put in a ring for myself, but I haven't decided yet. It's not expensive and I have like 12 hours to decide before the listing ends on ebay so we shall see, lol.

Chrysoberyl from multicolour arrived today and as it turns out I can not take a good photo
pictured with a barry moonstone and aqua cab
Plan is to send it to DK for a simple bezel setting

Got a new violet burmese spinel...it is 4.23ct and with a native cut, although doesn't have a fat bottom, it faces up huge. 11x8.7x6.3
I do see a tiny small bow tie shape window, will have it recut...I so hope it would be above 4ct after recut But would accept if not.
It's really violet. Both outdoor and indoor, turns a little more purple indoor though.

Just received this ring yesterday from Yvonne Raley. 7.5 x 4.2 Merelani in 14k rose gold with diamond and tsavorite melee. Tiny sliver of a window in the merelani but doesn't bother me. Yvonne carries a similar pendant in her shop. When she told me she had a ring version planned I ordered it sight unseen. Glad I did. Love it on my finger.
