I am so impatiently waiting for Distracts to tell and show us her new spinel. I am stalking this thread......lol

Sorry to keep you waiting, LisaRN!! I ended up returning it, which was why I didn't post them earlier because I wanted to sit on it without anyone else's opinions until I made up my mind. I ALMOST changed my mind at the post office but then I went through with mailing it back... it's a beautiful cut and perfect size but the color just didn't look that great on my hand to me. I liked the color when I looked at it in the box but not next to my skin. Looks pretty much like the picture though. It was super sparkly and had a lovely side profile (which I completely forgot to get a picture of). It looked exactly like the video in indirect sunlight, and imo pretty close to the Finewater glamour shots the rest of the time, so I think the photography/video combo was pretty accurate.

Oh my god witness my awful nail-painting skills. I just slather it on and peel the edges over my skin off in the shower the next day.

Thank you Distracts for the update! Not the spinel for you and I think I was expecting the spinel to look a bit different than your photos. So since we seem to share the same taste in pink spinels I agree that returning it was a good idea.

Who acquired a stone from Gene's maildrop yesterday? I love this pink tourmaline. It sold quickly.

My setting from Diamond Zone arrived today. I think my gold smith has to add prongs to it. Malaya garnet is 7.2x8 and it seem to be slight too wide (I think). Here is couple shots; stone just drop to mount. I really like the setting and finger coverage it gives .

The picture and video look different but I love the color in the video so I should be good.

I fell in love with the color as soon as I saw it. Such a delicate lavender. I hope it looks as good, in hand.

This is the design from mydiamondzone (you can find them on ebay), but I didn't buy it from them. I've been using my regular jeweler to custom made one for me Hope that helps

What a gorgeous yellow collection!!
You have 'something' with yellow like I have with blue and blue-greens.

Your ring will be amazing! I love everything about it. Looking forward to see it set in metal

I received my pretty lavender spinel yesterday, from James McCormick, and wanted to share some pics.

A close up: you can see some inclusions pretty clearly here but not too much by eye. I can only see a couple bubble like dots, in one spot, if I look closely.

Definitely has a slight grey to it but still a pretty light purple.
