It is beautiful!!!! Absolutely gorgeous! This is my first purchase of an emerald cut. It is an 11.1 by 8.2mm tourmaline. I would describe it as cranberry colored.
Beautiful ! Who’s the vendor?
I bought this sphene at a gem show this weekend. This first photo is next to my chrysoberyl and peridot for color reference.
I bought this pair of blue spinels (2.15c carat tw). They are shifty weirdos. I’m thinking of having a pendant and ring made instead of a pair of earrings.
Finally, I bought this zircon. I don’t know if it’s a red, pink, imperial or rose zircon. Does anyone know? It’s 2.29 carats.
I have some interesting gems showing up in the next package. Here’s one small tourmaline- 5mm round and blue green. Along with that a couple of blue tourmalines. They were meant to be a pair but one ended up up looking lighter than the other. Finding the right blue ready and cut has been a real struggle for me so these were all commissions. The lighting in these pics isn’t the best so I will take good ones when they reach me. Let me know what you think!
Thank you! Sphene has been on my wishlist for a while. I bought the peridot from a Pakistani vendor at the Spruce Pine gem show last year. He only had peridot. Mastercut gems has the prettiest I have seen online.Oh that sphene! Look at that dispersion. I have such a soft spot for highly dispersive gems like that. So beautiful! And I really love that peridot color. I am still eyeing that mastercutgems peridot. That spring green color peridots come in is amazing!
I love blue green tourmalines! They are some of my favorites. Yours a beautiful!I have some interesting gems showing up in the next package. Here’s one small tourmaline- 5mm round and blue green. How exciting! I am going to wait for you to help educate those of us who are not well versed in tourmalines to let us know what you think about the gems. They look beautiful to my eyes.
On that pic they seem matched closely enough for earrings I think! You really love the blue green tourmalines don't you!

Thank you all for your kind comments. Blue green I have found but pure blues are so elusive. I’ve been looking for too long. I wasn’t sure if I’ll find my Perfect blue in Tourmaline so I’m also getting an aqua! Here’s a picture in process. Will post as soon as it’s finished. Excited to share my projects with you
oh dear. Is that a crack or internal inclusion?
Is that a real fracture?
I do know vendor states guarantee stability of stone - even if the bench I choose whom takes 'reasonable measures' breaks it in setting- it's covered by vendor.
I do know vendor stated stones are graded face up, not face down.
I do know vendor stated what I see is just denser silk, but then amended with the reply "was just generally speaking -not particularly this stone".
I do know if 50% of this stones pavilion pops off I'd be pissed.
So it's most likely not a keeper for me.
I’ve been looking for a nice green pendant for a while and just won this at an online auction. I was convinced it has to be mine since it contains 3 of my fav gems - diamond, pearl and jade and bidded for it while I was in a meeting with my boss (omg I know right)...
Hopefully the color is nice irl.
It’s gorgeous! Love the three together. Does it come with a grade A cert or will you send it for testing?
I’ll probably send in for testing. Was thinking of going with the what I don’t know won’t harm me but I’m probably going to get more stuff from the same vendor so I probably should check this one out before I get more stuff.
Yes you should get it checked out. Nanyang gem lab at Far East Plaza is generally considered the better local lab in Sg.
Thanks for the tip!
Any idea how much it will cost and how long it will take for the cert/testing?
