The 1.99 mahenge is not as saturated as the video OR picture, and actually has a slight orange tint. The AIGS report says so too... but it looks like a pad. sapphire on crack in certain lighting, and a very pretty mahenge in other lighting, so I kept it. There was something about it that told me not to return it... (plus i got a hot pink trillion and that satisfied my hot pink crave)

the chrysoberyl looks like the video when the stone spins around and the back is glowy greenish yellow. Not when the stone is facing forward in the video. That's the best i can describe its color.

I hope it's sunny this weekend. Picture time!!

How is the pear? It was a good price for the size, but I did see some orange in it in the video.

My purple spinel still isn't here. Tracking said it was processed thru Omaha today, so if that means it continued on its journey today, I *might* get it by Saturday. Otherwise not till Monday. And if it comes Saturday we're out of town until Sunday afternoon-GAH!

i haven't gotten the pear yet! it should be here in a few weeks. i find that i actually like a little tinge of orange. not brown, but orange. the hot pink trillion i got is very very saturated and well cut, but it still doesn't call out to me as much as one w/ a lil orange.

i got these in the mail yesterday... from Janishjewels on etsy. LOVE them!!! Welo opal is from Barry.

Gonna photograph everything this weekend, as long as it's not rainy. It's supposed to rain tho. I got a total of 7 pieces from Daniel M and Janishjewels this past week. Now that daylight savings is here, i might be able to squeeze in some decent pics after work too.

OMG Arc that tourmaline is amazing, I often visit Swala to take a peek at it. Gemline still has some turquoise cabs, I bought a few and they're gorgeous.

OMG The Tourmaline is absolutely stunning.

You are hereby commanded to photograph that beauty THE MINUTE it arrives Chez Arcadian! Failure to do so will result in your immediate banishment from the CS forum for being a BAD BAD BAD CSer!

Seriously though, if it's as neon in real life it'll be an winner. From experience, Swala's photographs do tend to be more vivid looking than the stones IRL although that may just be my experience!

LD, and k9muttlover thanks. I'm thinking its probably going to be similar IRL. I did look at the 4ct giant which is bluer (and more x-pensive!!). I got over the hump of it being heated, and my husband likes it much more than the 4ct one so we compromised...but he's letting me get the kind of setting I want for it

My other bluish green is from them yes. Very much so like the vendor photo after it was set and sooo glowy! I love the fact you can see the windmills even at arm's length, Its a very lovely and flashy stone. I'm always excited when I put it on and wear it.


Dunno when it will be here I'm just going to say "coming soon"

Thanks Arcadian! No concrete plans yet but peridot is both my husband and son's birthstone so maybe I can work it in with the spess, which is my daughter's birthstone, into a pendant. JKT will be doing the design for our mother daughter pendants later this year so it's still up in the air and I want to see it in person first. I'm not sure how the green and orange will go together.

I finally have a pic to share of my long-awaited aqua from JW. This is his photo, but it should arrive 'home' no later than Monday. The gem is incredibly special to me. It is my first custom cut gem but moreover, it is symbolic of new bginnings for me and I cannot wait to work on a setting.
