Finally, I got the ring: CBI diamond, 2.02 ct, k, vs2 in a Stuller 6-prong 10k white gold setting. I really like it. I couldn't be happier.

Thank you pricescope comunity from the bottom of my heart, without you, it would have been an entirely different diamond in a entirely setting.

Gorgeous ring and it looks amazing on your hand!! Congrats:appl:
Pleeeeease more photos of the ring and if you can, include some shots of its profile!

Beautiful!

I feel This is a timeless classic simple 6 prong setting will not go out of style. I won’t mind the exact same style in platinums! Love. I am hard on my things, rings bags shoes. Although I love the more elaborate settings, I am afraid of the diamonds falling out, shank scratched bent out of shape. This setting I feel it can take a beating and hides the dings

I am attached to my original diamond platinum engagement ring, had worn it for 10+ years. Hpd was able to remove the head and turn it into a band. I am wearing it as a wedding band.

Congratulations. It's beautiful. I love the platinum ER modified to wedding band. What a fantastic idea!

The diamond, setting and band are perfect. The set is just stunning on you. Congratulations!!! Well done!

And its gorgeous!!! Looks lovely on you!

I absolutely love this! And yes, I’m in the same boat and this has me thinking... I have my original ering sitting in a dark jewelry box. :(

Congrats on a gorgeous set! I’d love to see more pics!

do you know the widths of the bands? the set is absolutely stunning! congrats.

This is an extremely beautiful shot! Congratulations! And your idea to turn you old ering to a wedding band is just ingenious!

Simply beautiful set!

Hi, @crystalinmke,

This is the link to the stuller 6-prong setting. It is 2 mm width.

The e-ring converted to plain band is 2.5 mm. It was a comfort fit (half-round) from bluenile.

I can see a difference in width between the 2 mm and 2.5 mm. I prefer the 2.5 mm. when I order the permanent platinum setting, I will find something in 2.5 mm.

I have seen the H, I, J and k lined up, there are visible color differences.

However somehow I had wrongly expected/hoped, that without another diamond side by side, maybe the K will appear colorless. I am wrong (at least the one that I got). It is indeed a faint yellow. I know right, it is categorized k, which means faint yellow. Why would I expect otherwise. You can see if from the side, you can see it from the top. Just want to put it out there for people who are considering K.

I have read through a few thread on pricescope on higher color diamonds (K+), some people mentioned theirs faced up white, so I guess that is why I had hoped mine would face up icy white. Scratch that.

I am undecided on the color. But the cut is both thumbs up.

so pretty! I hope the color "grows" on you, it really does look lovely

The ring is amazing. Thank you for posting more photos of it. I'm currently having my 1.14ct RB diamond reset in a custom made six prong setting, very similar to yours, made in 18 kt white gold. I love this look a lot. You might end up loving this setting and keeping it for much longer than you had initially decided! A dear friend of mine had her diamond set in such a setting, with the intention to have a halo setting custom made down the road and five years later she's still wearing proudly the solitaire!!
Congrats again! Wear it in good health:appl:

Hi, @Natylad,

Thank you.

How exciting! Who is making your custom six prong setting? I am looking forward to your reveal! What do you plan to do with your old setting?

Thanks everyone.

Love the cut, love the size, love the clarity. It is a keeper.

My reasoning is that it will be 3000+ to go from a CBI K to J for about the same size and clarity. To me personally, it is not worth it.

so I will embrace the faint yellow. I will work on it.

I don't hate color k. In my cases, there is just a discrepancy of expectation vs actual. I had hoped the diamond will appear colourless. However although the faint yellow is very faint, it is very noticeable, if that makes any sense. Alternatively, I thought if the color is noticeable, it will be like the color of aged books. Lots of people here on PS had referred their K color diamonds as buttery. But my K is not what I envisioned buttery to be. To me butter is ivory, beige, not yellow.

That goes to another "mistake" on my part. I have read on PS that lower color works on old cut diamond, might not work too well in a MRB. I didn't believe it. Now I think that might be true! (Some of the most beautiful old cut diamond showcased on PS are old cuts. I think it is those people who referred their diamond color as buttery.)

Thank you!

Hi, @Natylad,

Thank you.

Hi uyalison:wavey:

I am very lucky to have a great jeweller here in Greece, who is also a designer and he is the one who has created almost all the pieces in my collection! He is the one who is making my ring but in this case I gave him very specific instructions of what I wanted because I realized that he was tempted to create something fancy and elaborate and I had my mind set on a very simple and classic solitaire setting!
As far as the old setting is concerned, I'm thinking of having a pink sapphire set on it! We will see!

I think it's gorgeous! Does it face up white enough and you see the yellow on the sides? I know you had talked about a dahlia setting. 8 prongs would cover most of the girdle and the yellow would be less noticeable, similar to a bezel.

But, I think it looks pretty perfect as is!!! Congrats!

Hi, @Natylad. I am curious. Can't wait to see what your simple and classic solitaire setting look like! Excited for you.

Just beautiful! Congratulations! You definitely won’t get tired of looking at that sparkler!

Hi, @ceg, thank you for "stopping by". That is good to know!

Yes, I am still thinking about the cvB dahlia. I have the pictures of your ring downloaded on my phone, which I looked at often. I actually have a question for you regarding the dahlia. I will post it in the Dahlia thread, in case in the future other has similar questions.
