CBI 3.27 ctw 3-Stone Ring - Ideas please

@Tekate - I definitely would like to see this, as I'm considering something similar. Can you give me some hints on how to find your Insta page?

well, are you a follower of Missy? I am too.. I'll go over and look for you!

No - I'm not! I think I know how to find her tho.....

@mrs-b I looked on mochiko's and DS's and Missy's and did not see your name so if you search I start with KTB :) look on DS as she doesn't have as many to go thru.. :)

Sorry @Tekate - I really don't know how to find any of those people. I dont know DS's Insta name (I looked up diamondseeker2006, and it isnt that) and am following almost nobody. I *did*, however, just look through all 1200 of Missy's followers and followees and am not sure what I'm looking for. I searched for KTB in the general search box, and found dozens of things.

Could you pls just post a photo here or on a new thread? That would be awesome!

ETA - Skip ALL of this - I just found your PS thread on it!

Here's my old 3 stone, which is now gone. I actually loved this ring - it just wasn't quite large enough for my finger and I felt the proportion of the side stones was too small. I like sides which are each .4 the ctw od the center stone - so - .4ct / 1ct / .4ct. The ones in the photo are .33. (.72ct / 2.05ct / .72ct) But I LOVE the profile and always have.

@mrs-b I like very much your ring above, I love trellis for some reason.. I was going for more of a anniversary ring than an engagement ring, truth known ANYTHING you do with jewelry is beautiful. Truth.

Yes, well, that's the thing....

Sadly, I vary between a 7 and an 8. I have Crohn's, so my fingers go up and down a lot. Either way, there's a lot of real estate there!

I'm sure yours will look AMAZING on your finger! Is it MissGotRocks with the ACA center and small sides? That's a fantastic looking ring, and I'm assuming yours will look something like that. Gorgeous!

Very pretty, another lady with color sensitivity ... isn't it terrible? Causes us to pay more for high colorless diamonds. I had a 2.05 D-VS2 in the past and I could definitely see the difference between it and an F.
Have you seen the Munsell Color Test? I scored 100 while dear hubby missed about 30 of them. Check it out.

@cflutist i took this test with a privacy protector on and my screen down to 25% brightness, with my glasses off...and still scored a 2 :eek2::eek2:(apparently 0 is a perfect score?) I am a wee bit scared to see what this means for my future diamond expenses :cry2::cry2:

ETA: the first colored diamond I looked at and fell in love with was a 4K .1ct fancy purplish pink :kiss2::kiss2::oops2::oops2::mrgreen2::mrgreen2:

This means that you have very color sensitive eyes. Hopefully you like near colorless or warmer diamonds, otherwise you will need to spend big bucks to buy F and above.:mrgreen2:
I had a 2.05 D-VS2 and could definitely see the difference between a D and a F.
CBI D-colored diamonds are really expensive which is why I balanced color with cost and bought 4 F-colored ones.

@rockysalamander
Thank you for posting the links.
I like the first one a lot (without the melee on the basket) and saved a screenshot of it on my tablet. The only issue I have is the 4 prongs on the center stone. Years ago my 2.05 D-VS2 fell out of a 4-prong mounting (when a person slammed a door on my hand) and I had to sit through a 3-hr orchestra rehearsal with that diamond in my pants pocket. I promised myself that any diamond over 2 ct would be set with 6 prongs. But you can sure see the pavilion with just 4 prongs ... tough decision. Wink told me years ago that 80% of losses were from 4-prong mountings. I also will not do 3 prongs on the side stones for the same reason.

I can't to see more pics!!! The proportions are just PERFECT!:love::love: What size stones did you use for the band? Are you planning on wearing them as a set?

I scored a 4... which I think is pretty good for the male of the species, who seem more prone to colour-blindness! lol

Not good news for future diamond purchases, though...

Stunning. And I want to know about the band - shared prong, but with an edge of metal? Like a reverse channel set? Or am I overthinking this? Either way, the pair is lovely.

Oh wow. @cflutist you have my favorite collection on this board. I will be eagerly awaiting more photos.

I really enjoy taking the color tests and always score 0. And I do gravitate toward colorless stones, but I still like warm old cuts too, probably because I'm an antique lover.

The HP Lux melee on the band are 1.8mm. I plan to wear the band with Symphonie that has 1.6mm melee on its shank. Trilogie will be a RHR.
