Ok, so I''ve got two options... Let me know what you think

Clear crystal is the normal height for tasting flutes.

The Black crystal are regular champagne glasses.

I have a feeling I know what everyone is going to go with, but the other ones are just so cool looking. I already have both of them, so price isn''t a factor; and my wedding colors are ivory, black, champagne, and platinum (or gold)... I''m flopping back and forth.

Here is a pic... side-by-side

I like both of them the black ones are certainly different but still tasteful while the clear ones are beautiful as well.

If it were me I would probably pick the clear ones because I am more of a traditionalist and I think they would photograph better but really both look good :).

Although I can't resist Waterford (I got some in a different pattern for christmas and LOVE them!) the black ones are way cool!

Everyone does clear crystal - I say go for something different and do the black ones. If you are standing, it would contrast nicely with your dress and I think it would look smashing in photographs! Especially since they go with your colors.

ETA: Hold the phone. The black ones ARE Waterford?!?! Then the answer is clear - get the cool black ones.

I''d pick the clear flutes for the same reason Deelight and Lorelei stated.

Thritto.

i like the black ones the best... but i like to be different :-)

I like the clear flutes!

I vote for the clear crystal for the same reason as others - I think it will look much better in photos. You won''t be able to see the champagne in the others. The black are certainly cool looking and I''d keep them for something else (DH and I love champagne, so I can never have enough champagne glasses). Unless you are really trying to do something different, I''d stick with the clear.

Thanks everyone, I figured most would lean more towards the traditional. They are beautiful and I love them, I just thought a splash of color would be neat in pictures!

lee- You made me laugh!! I love finding new Waterford pieces!! My mom got these for winning a golf tournament. She thought she would never use them, and had infact never even opened the box up to look at them. I was esctatic to see them, and I want to use them somehow.

Would it be weird if we used the clear flutes for the formal toast and cake, and then I used a black one the rest of the night? or should I stick to the same crystal?

My mom bought the regular ones for us as well, as a Christmas present...

She had forgotten that she even had the black ones.

100% the clear. they are much more elegant and timeless. the blk ones are cool but kinda "lord of the rings" ish. hehehe.

I''m partial to the clear ones because I just received the same set as a XMAS gift from my FMIL. They are gorgeous!

I love both, though, and think that they will look great in pictures. I like your idea of using both at different points in the night!

I agree - if you want to use the clear some, do - but I think the black ones are gorgeous and would contrast so well with the colors and with what''s "normal" - go with the BLACK!!

The clear ones look much more elegant.

the Waterford personally. But to answer your ? I don''t think it would be weird to use the clear for toast then the others later.

I love the waterford ones. I like the black to but the others win out for me.

I like the black ones. I looked at them in the store several times for myself, but I think the clear ones would photograph better. Mix it up, use both if you want.
