MBKRH - I love the black/silver tree! I'd never considered a fake that wasn't green/semi-traditional. Ours is fiber optic and I just LOVE how the fiber optic lights look all twinkly. We hoep to get a 7-9 foot fiberoptic tree one day!

And LOVE your Christmas pickle! Any chance you can post a shot for us?

Here's the pickle. My sister bought it for us last Christmas. It's glass, with a lot of glitter. She got it at the Christkindlmarket in downtown Chicago.

I love that you went ahead and decorated! My family always did it the day after Thanksgiving so ours are already up!

The fitness center I go to has Christmas ornaments and other Christmas stuff for sale and they have several pickle ornaments. They're not glittery, but they're definitely pickles. I wouldn't have noticed them if not for this thread.

I think I'm pretty much decided I will by SO a pickle because he's got German in him hehe. We don't have a tree though so he'll have to find somewhere to hang it! Can't decide if I like the jar or the sparkly crate and barrel one better. Maybe I'll see of they still have it at c&b next time I'm at the mall.

I totally caved and started to decorate my tree last night! I think its going to be a bit sparse, I'm hoping to find more ornaments in my Christmas shopping travels.

We got all of the gifts wrapped last night. We are done shopping. Done buying. Done wrapping!

We now get to enjoy all the things we love about the season with the material aspect out of the way. So happy for cocoa, movies, snuggles, cold weather, twinkly lights, night time walks, music, treats, and all the wonderful festivities that this season brings!

I finished most of my shopping yesterday. I was out from 8am-11am for school...ran around and did shopping got home at 2:20pm...hid and unloaded everything then worked from 3-11:30pm! Needless to say...i am exhausted today! I am now holding off on wrapping etc until after finals which is dec 18th. i have a really busy 3 weeks left in this semester

In other news...i am so excited about ABC family's 25 days of christmas! I am never around or available to watch movies due to school and work...but i set the dvr for a bunch of the movies so after my finals can have a marathon!

Is this where I get to share what I got my BF for Christmas??

Because I can't tell HIM about it, and I am DYING to share my secret with someone. I might explode if I don't tell anyone. It's just too good.

For several years, he's been joking about how awesome it would be to have an dramatic oil painting of a 16th century seafarer on the helm of his ship or something, but there's a twist! Instead of the original face, it will look like him! And then he can invent a fabulous fake story about his famous seafaring ancestors and tell people he comes from a long line of Dutch pirates.

The last time we talked about this was about a year ago, so I know he won't suspect a thing. I got the painting done! It's 20"x24", so it's pretty big, and now I'm going to have to frame it in one of those antiquey old gold swirly frames.

So here it is! What do you guys think?
