Hi
Long time lurker here!
This community has been invaluable to us when choosing our custom made e-ring so thank you all.
I now have a beautiful ering that to me is simply stunning but the claws keeps catching.

They're not catching badly, like on clothing, I just keep finding bits of thread underneath the claws and I have no idea whether this is something to be worried about?
The jeweller is based in New York and I am in Perth, Western Australia, so I can't just pop back to get them to take a look! As i am a complete novice when it comes to rings, I dont feel comfortable contacting the jeweller without some expert advice.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

The ring is a 3 stone platinum, with single claws
Thanks!

Should not be a problem but I have no experience with claw prongs.

Maybe change the title to something related to Aussie, by using the report concern button and asking the admins to help? There are a few posters from Perth that can direct you to some jewelers in Perth?

Ah, that would drive me nuts! Even if the prongs are safe, you may end up snagging and ruining a cute shirt or sweater. I'd talk to someone about that!

You don't have to send it back to NY to fix the prongs. This is probably a simple adjustment that a local jeweler can do.

Likely the prongs just need to be tightened or thinned so they are flush with the top of the diamond (it's probably not flush now, which is why stuff gets caught).

I would definitely fix it because if a strong thread gets caught and you pull and the thread does not break, you'll damage the prong, possibly leading to a loose/lost diamond.

If it's happening contstantly, I'd have someone take a look at it.

That said, any ring with prongs is going to get the occasionaly thread or fuzz caught in it. I spend the winter picking bits of my glves out of my ring.

i get fuzz trapped in mine- but not all the time. It hasn't been an issue for me, but if you find it happening more often than not, you can inquire with a jeweler.
