Wow, I didn't realize they made lab ones! I think Ill likely end up just getting a doublet to save $, since at least that way I can see the finished piece. But thank you!!@lovedogs have you seen this? I’m not at all i tune with the lab-opal world, but the color looks bonkers

So I didn’t get them...but Gene wrote me saying he’d cut me two more since he has more material. So kind of him! So I’ll post more when I get my two stones!
The blue spinel.Awesome. What did you get? I can’t seem to remember.
The blue spinel.
Gene of Precision Gems.It is beautiful. I love that blue in it. Do you know who originally cut it?
It’s definitely more blue and less included and very very glowy.How would you compare it to your natural emerald? Inquiring minds need to know.
I would love to get my hands on some of the rough that it came from.It’s definitely more blue and less included and very very glowy.
@MakingTheGrade wow, what a gem--congrats on scoring it pre-loved.
@lovedogs are you trying to buy rough or an already cut blue spinel? It might be worth commissioning one from a cutter that knows his stuff? I noticed that the vendor you bought your previous blue spinel from disclosed that color distribution was on a gradient in the rough, so I think that the color of the cut gem using the rough that vendor was selling would depend on the size and how the gem is cut. Have you tried asking a cutter such as Gene to figure out the specifics of how to get a lab spinel in the exact color and size you want? If not, it might be worth trying. Anyways, good luck!
