I also love your sapphire Velourial.

Thought I'd share brother's proposal ring for his GF.

Specs:
2.35 ct ruby (untreated)
0.98 ctw diamonds

That's me modelling the ring the night he picked it up.

And Nicky...that's a NICE ring...

DiaDiva- Very nice-It looks like a Burma stone. I have a couple ruby rings that I made for my wife. If I can figure out how to post a decent digital photo I will. The tsavorite I posted looks much better in person.

You''re right, Nick. It''s Burmese. Would love to see more of your wife''s collection...

Nicky,

that tsavorite is just AWSOME! Makes me want to trade in my emeralds for tsavorite

I love colored gemstone jewelry, and particularly all these great posts/pics!

Not long ago I purchased the 14K white gold sapphire ring pictured below (it's not my engagement ring, though). Most of my collection is colored gemstone; however, PS originally attracted my attention as an educational resource while shopping with my boyfriend for an e-ring last August. (I recently posted my engagement ring pics toward the end of the show-me-the-ring e-ring thread [page 58, I think].)

This is the ring my son and I created for his girlfriend. It''s about 1.75 carats and we think it turned out beautifully! Not the best cut in the world, but it was given to her on bended knee last nite, and ...... well let''s just say that she isn''t done running up the minutes on their cell phone yet. :)

Dia,

I love the burmese halo, its similar to mine with a lot more bling.

Nicky, that ring is amazing!

Oops, pic didn''t come through. Now I have to figure out how to do this!

Ok, the third time should be the charm for getting this picture to come up. Wish me luck.

My father sent me a 9x7 oval Rhodolite Garnet for my 8 year old daughter. I had the stone set and here are the results. I think the ring is gorgeous!

My 22 carat acquamarine, purchased from an Estate and set in 18K yellow gold. It is one of my favorite rings and my son says he loves the way it "sparkles"! I agree!

cheers--Sharon

Lovely Aqua, Sharon. Is that an emerald cut? It looks sort of rounded and I can''t really tell from this angle.

HI GM:

It is a rectangle: 19.81mm (L) x 14.71 (W) x 10.0mm (D). Thanks for the compliment--I know it is a large ring, but I am partial to these sizes and it suits me to a tee!

cheers--Sharon

U2: I love the setting you used for your daughter''s ring. Is that a custom setting?

All those prongs should help that ring withstand a lot of abuse!

Hi Sharon

Thanks for the info on your beautful aqua! I love large rings too and I have a 19ct oval aqua that''s a little darker than yours and a 27ct aqua that''s very much like the one in your picture.

People tease me all the time about my mania with large rings, but I have large hands and thick fingers and tiny rings just disappear on them

Besides, I LIKE large colored stones!!

Hi MINIMS,

No, it''s not a custom setting. It''s a very inexpensive setting that I got from liebcor on ebay. It''s perfect for my 8 year old daughter.

Hi Sharon :)

I''m sorry I didn''t post a reply earlier but I was holding out for some better pics of my aquas. Unfortunately I couldn''t get therm so I scanned the rings instead.

Believe me, they look much more beautiful in real life!

Here we go then... the oval aqua is 19+ cts set in 18K YG with .06 RB''s
The emerald cut aqua is 27cts in 18K WG - very heavy!

Here is a side view of the same rings. Don''t be surprised at the ring-to-stone ratio... I wear size 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 in my middle finger

cheers--Sharon

Ok, so I am brand new to this, but I wanted to see if I could get some opinions on this ring... the stone is dirty, and not mounted.. .it''s just sitting on top of the setting... please let me know what you think!!!!

Emily, that looks lovely! The stone is such a pretty greyish blue (on my monitor, at least!). I think it will be a stunning ring. What is the stone? A spinel, sapphire??

I wish you well,

Bridget
