Colored Stone E-rings/Eyecandy

Okay its months and months later but YOWZA Neptune! That is a gorgeous alternative to diamond engagement ring (Ithat was thread?) Such a beautiful green ❣

Thank you for your kind words. Magic of CS is real!

Lordy!!! How big is that spinel???? That color...the setting....the cutting...and the SIZE. How do yo not bump into things as you're walking around? I would be staring at my finger all day long!

Thank you for the reminder, I will make sure to pay attention next time wearing it. hehe. It's a bit over 2.5 ct.

My new ring from David Klass arrived today. I'm smitten! Center is a Vietnamese spinel.

These are beautiful, @newtojewels !!! Nice to see them altogether!

Thank you! I feel very fortunate to have amassed this little collection. The emerald, opal, and Paraiba rings were all LT purchases from PSers and I only heard about the vendors for the others because of PS. My tastes have definitely been shaped by all of my years of lurking here!

Any ideas what this stone may be?20240904_171210.jpg

Wow! So beautiful. And that setting is so intricate and unique. I follow David klass on Instagram--- his stuff is always AMAZING.

Fantastic! Perfect shot of some truly incredible rings. And taking the pic next to the purple/violet-ish flowers was an inspired choice. Bravo!

Spinel and diamonds

Love it! I just saw this ring the other day on another thread--- so that IS a spinel. So nice! It looks exactly like a high grade Ruby (no wonder spinel used to be mistaken for Ruby back in the day). Dazzling! And the gold of the Ring is so rich. Is that 18k?

I'll be brave and post my target ring with (most likely) synthetic rubies, European cut center and mine cut halo from early 20th century. It's original and well loved. I recently had it sized.

Spinel, yes. 18k, yes. Thank you so much!

So, this is completely out of the ordinary for me. I'm usually much more subdue with my jewelry - but this one just jumped out at me and will be delivered to my house soon. The center stone is a ruby, surrounded by amethyst, citrine, white and yellow topaz and peridot. I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea - but it just seemed joyful. It is a very large ring - so large that I know I won't wear it - so I think I will have it made into a broach.

Adding my tanzanite and diamond 45th anniversary gift from 10 years ago. I did what no self respecting PSer would ever recommend to anyone. After being on the beach all day, we were staggering walking back to the ship when we passed one of those huge diamond stores that cater to suckers tourists. I saw all the shiny things winking at me so….. an hour later, came out with this tanzanite ring. We overpaid, but it is truly lovely , doesnt have the color zoning that shows in the photo, and pairs perfectly with my Mikimoto diamond eternity band. No regrets overall. Wouldn’t/couldn’t do that again because thanks to PS I know just enough to know bette, unless they were having a huge sale……22E04697-2AC2-46AA-ACA3-19127DB3CD0A.jpeg

ruby around .8 carat with m color trapezoids. I love three stones with traps so although not perfect. It’s delicious and reminds me of candy. 27EAFEC3-EC3F-45A8-8603-E20384B99770.png

My ruby shocked me today! In some of the worst lighting ever it showed off some fireworks I'm guessing my diamond bands might have helped? I thought it was so cool I really wanted to share it!

My 4ct, pink-purple, unheated, Sri Lankan star sapphire ring with pink marquise and round blue sapphires, set in 18k gold. Stone and setting from Yvonne at Cecile Raley designs. I have had this lovely for a year now and it brings me so much pleasure every time I wear her.

Happiness to wear on your hand! Actually all of them are beautiful!

Would you mind sharing the proportions of your three stone? I am tossing around this idea in my mind to give my 1.3 round more "umph" and yours looks lovely.

Thank you!
No I only know the measurements.
I am not even sure if it's a natural ruby or not. It was sold to me as natural but there was no paperwork to accompany it and I haven't taken it to my jeweler. The person I bought it from said her jeweler suggested I have it examined and insured.
It's handcut measuring 9.7 mm x 8.9 mm
Set in 22k gold 2.6 grams
I was just so thrilled it had victorian hallmarks on it and the color! I snatched it up as soon as I could :) ! The earliest one is from 1853 Birmingham WE it has a few more and I like to think it was passed down through a few generations before it got to me :).
