Colored Stone E-rings/Eyecandy

Thanks for the welcome Widget! It''s not my e-ring - my husband and I picked out the loose stone at a private shop in the USVI last year. We were having difficulty finding a quality emerald we liked (at a good price here in the states). The diamonds were sent here about 6 months later by the same shop and were set in the US. Aside from the wider-than-usual spaces between the stones, it''s perfect in my eyes. BTW, I love this thread - lots of yummies to see!

Gorgeous and welcome, rphgemlover!

A good emerald is hard to find, unfornately... Excuse my ignorance, but what''s USVI?

Oops - sorry Velourial - United States Virgin Islands! St. Thomas to be exact. I did a LOT of research (and a little lurking here) before buying...there are a lot of unscrupulous people/tourist traps out there!!!

Chicagolady''s Sapphire e-ring:
clring3.jpg

From original thread:
Here''s more specs -- they said it''s an oval shape modified mixed cut natural blue sapphire, clarity SI-1, Type 2, medium, moderately strong violetish blue color, GIA vB 5/4, cut is good. Indications of heat enhancement are present. 26 bead set round brilliant cut diamonds, approximate total weight of stones=.26ct, approx VS2 clarity. The shank is 1.15 mm in width.

Chicagolady - Gotta love those sapphires! Mine happens to be east-west, which we''ve already seen on this thread....but I''m DYING for a gem set "halo-style"!!!

Yeh Chicagolady!!! Bravo!!

Why -oh -why do I always have picture trouble??? Oh well, you ladies have inspired me to post again. Fat fingers, nails undone...and a tsav (a little on the dark side) 1.15ct(?) and dia 0.5ct tot.

And another shot...

OH WOW<> THAT IS SCRUMPTOUS!!!!

Thanks - although I think your spess is the bomb! (One of my husband''s favorite stones...we have yet to purchase one) And I see you''ve already introduced your daughter to the hobby of "jewelry acquiriing"! The ring seems to fit her - dainty but not tiny.

Rphgemlover: Great tsavorite!!!

Is that a yellow gold Ering and wedding band??? You MUST go over and post them in the "Show me the Ring" forum. We don''t see enough of those!

As I''m sure you''ve figured out, posting pictures of one''s treasures is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED around here.

Why -oh -why do I always have picture trouble???
I''ve discovered that simplifying a picture''s "title" to just a couple of letter or numbers helps ensure that the picture loads. I usually adjust their size in my photo editing program to between 250 and 400 pixels...whatever those are!

Thanks for the photo advice - they are uploading first try now. I posted several pics on the SMTR thread...not as much sparkle as in real life...

All right...I''m bordering on obnoxious now...I couldn''t resist posting my sapphire. Ceylon sapp (looks like evidence of heat treatment)1.51ct dia 0.5 - 0.6ct tot. Set in white gold w/ yg band. My husband picked the stone and had the ring made for my birthday this year. A year ago, I didn''t have any gemstone rings at all!!

Well, you certainly have some beauties now! That sapph and tsav are great! I can''t wait to see more about your wedding set!

That sapphire is just yummy.

Thanks Velourial and Kaleigh - There are definitely some ones here that make me gaga - pad sapphires, Vel''s giant tourmaline....."opals and rubies and tsavs OH MY"!!!!

Righ now my current fav is Pariba tourmaline. Does anyone have a ring with a Pariba tourmaline???

Mine,
Thanks for posting my Emerald rings

Here is my pear shaped sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds. The sapphire is a little over 4ct and not sure the total diamond weight. I wish the blue showed up better in the photo

Fabulous tsav ring! Not dark at all, just about right for my taste. Yummy, Love it!

Just made this new one as my right hand ring last week. The mounting was my original e-ring (got an update, yupy!) Red sapphire, 1.42ct. It looks really red in darker room, but will appear a little orangy red in the sun. Love it.

The red sapphire before mounted.

Here is my sapphire, not sure of its dimensions. My husband bought it for my birthday 4 years, way before I discovered Pricescope. I think it''s around 1 carat, can''t remember about the little diamonds though. It''s a bit too dark for my liking but he was really sweet to buy it to replace another sapphire ring that I lost. Sob sob........

WOW Yingh.. that is a beautiful red color.... I like it!! You have some yummy stones in your collection!

DiaDiva... Your sapphire looks big! Only a carat.. wow... it looks nice and "hey look at me.. I am fabulous!!!"

** Edited to add: Oh, I am very sorry, I thought this was a basic "coloured stone rings" thread, not specifically an e-ring thread... my sincere apologies... just ignore the next few posts!!

***************

I don't really have much expensive jewellry.. I don't really like yellow gold so I only wear silver... but I still have a couple of YG rings in my jewellry box, including this one that I inherited from my grandmother... I believe it is aquamarine, but am not 100% sure...

.... This one is a citrine....

.... This one is amber... the colour is amazing, it varies from a light green/olive to an deep rusty red..... it''s a fairly large ring, though!!!

... and my older, trusty amber ring... fairly plain, a bit bent out of shape, but still a favourite...

(It's actually a bit darker than this photo shows, but it was taken with a flash.... )

This is just a top view to better show off the size of the larger amber ring...

(hope no-one minds me posting these non-sparkly ones....)
