Colored Stone E-rings/Eyecandy

I don't have really big, bling rings yet, like many of you do, but I recently got this untreated ruby from my then-boyfriend now-fiance. I am in love with the vivid red color. :geek2:

Hi, Voce!
Congratulations on your engagement! That is a gorgeous untreated ruby—so beautiful on your delicate hand. May you enjoy it in good health and much happiness together!

With my mom’s permission sharing a photo from the summer. This is my mom’s Zuni fetish necklace. When my sister was at Cornell veterinary college she bought this for my mom. I will ask my sister more about it today when I see her. All I know is it’s very pretty.

Lol Just seeing the bracelet. I think it’s cloisonné. Not sure. Will ask my mom.

Zoom in to see the necklace. Made up of all different natural stones.

ETA just spoke with my mom and yes I’m right about the bracelet and my parents got it in St Thomas on their honeymoon in 1963.

Missy,
I just love, love, love this picture of your parents. They look so joyful together. Wishing the blessings of life on everyone! Happy Fathers Day to your dad and all the good fathers out there!

I just got this one and love it so much!
Wow, beautiful blue! Tell us more, we love a good ring story! Can we get a hand shot, please? The halo is so interesting, wonder what it looks like from the top.

Mine,
Thanks for posting my Emerald rings

Here is my pear shaped sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds. The sapphire is a little over 4ct and not sure the total diamond weight. I wish the blue showed up better in the photo

MZ!! LOVE IT ORANGE sister!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!

Woo.... Looks perfect.. color was definitely what your setting needed! SCRUMPTOUS!!

Check out this ring I found... I this a ring from Tiffanys... It was a HUGE stone... 18+ carats.. Although I am not usually a sapphire (I leaned toward the warmer colors) I was shocked by this one. I cannot remember where I got the picture, but I kept it cause of how huge it was!

Thank you, @MissyBeaucoup!

Hey everyone, I’ve been away for years (being a mum and not having time to wear my rings). Would love to come hang out again. Here are a pink spinel and an orange spess that I mounted myself in silver settings.

I have a couple new rings coming to me from Etsy, would love to share them here when I get them.

Wow, you mounted them yourself? I have thought about buying settings and putting in the center gem myself, but it looked like a very involved process on Youtube. Did you cut notches in the prongs before bending them to the gem?

Your pink spinel and orange spess rings are beautiful!

Seconded, I would like to see a top view, too, @tagyana.

:love:It looks even better in the handshot!!! No window, and it looks 3cts+ :rolleyes2:

I would personally call it royal blue. The term "cornflower" can mean different shades/hues to different people, and in my opinion is a lighter shade of blue than your sapphire. Some may call it Kashmir blue, but to my eyes Kashmir blue from the photograph books showcasing museum quality gems have a tinge of violet. Yours looks like a luscious, pure and vivid blue.

Thanks so much for sharing! :geek2:

You can buy prenotched mounts from eBay or Etsy and you also need a pair of small jeweller’s pliers. Silver settings are quite easy, and not expensive if you mess it up. I think rounds are easy to set, but ovals and cushions are challenging. My spinel is poorly set because I couldn’t get it even but it’s secure, so I’m fine with it.

@MamaBess where did you get these beauties? LOVE!

I got the emerald suite at an estate sale. The red spinel is new, made by a private jeweler for me. I had my eye on that particular stone for SIX YEARS! yes, you read that correctly. I said to him, "when are you going to accept the fact that the spinel is my stone and nobody else is going to buy it?" . He finally sold it to me for a price I was willing to pay. Then he let me choose a nice setting from his wares. As for the ruby ring and the diamond engagement ring, I got those as gifts from Hubby. He bought them many years ago from Zales jewelers.

I love that story! Your 6 years of patience paid off!

My 1.5 ct black/grey and/or extremely included diamond.

I've been reluctant to share this one because everyone has perfect stones (I know the diamond boards would hate this) and this one is objectively one million percent imperfect. But I love it so much and it represents everything I love about geology, and it is my engagement stone. I just reset the stone from its original high open 4-prong solitaire into this new home. I'm super excited to have a setting that I love and that secures the stone so much better.

@MissSarah All that matters is that you love it! I like it- very special and unique!

@MissSarah A unique stone and a gorgeous setting! :))

Everyone has such beautiful pieces!!!

This is my light blue oval from Dana at Mastercutgems
I love the setting! It transforms your colored stone into a delicate flower. :kiss2: Where did you get the setting? I have a teal-colored sapphire I want to set into a 5-petaled flower.

My new three stone spinel ring. It’s untreated red spinel from Tanzania, a lovely dark red with no orange, pink or brown to my eye. The stones are small but well cut with no windowing.
