I think you two are absolutely charming, and you''re being adorable to upgrade before you even propose - nothing but the best for your lady!

I think you''ve heard a lot of wise comments on this thread: true friends won''t be jealous, and, well, no matter how close they are, friends can''t take top priority *in the context of your relationship.* Get your GF the thing that will make her most happy, and then come back and post pics!

That''s so sweet that you want to upgrade already! It''s clear you want the best for your fiancee -- lucky lady!

As far as her friends go -- if they''re jealous, screw em. Seriously. True friends will be happy.

The ring you buy your gf should be determined by only 2 things, your budget and her preferences. That is all. I would not worry about what her friends (or anyone) is going to think. To be honest, some will love her ring. Others may hate it. It doesn''t matter what they think.

I''ll probably have one of the largest rings in my family. I''ll also have one of the smallest amongst my coworkers. None of my friends are married or engaged, so I don''t have anyone to compare it too. If my friend received a much larger rock, I don''t think that I would be jealous. I chose a 3/4 carat solitaire because I don''t want my bf to spend too much on the ring. We have more important things to do with our money. He was willing to spend more, but I told him not to.
