Concave Garnet

In the pic I just posted. The topaz Earrings H are closest to the halo I want for the garnet pendant. That''s the proportion of gem to halo I want. I really DO want the garnet to be the star, you see. But I want it framed. It would look great offset like the pendant Sophie posted with the thin halo from H. What do you think?

Sophie I have a necklace set like that (amethyst with a diamond halo) and LOVE it. It makes it a little more unique.

MZ... the stone is huge! I wouldn''t have halo''d it for a ring. Actually... I''m talking to a jeweler about getting a smaller garnet of the same cut.. about 8mm for that phillip noel ring. No halo. Promise.

Hi Sophie. Don''t know how long it''s going to take to find a matching garnet to this one. I''ve asked for one just like this... only 8mm in size. I''ll set it <> in the phillip noel. And this 11mm one will be set in a pendant with a skinny halo around it. I think. I''m thinking about earrings too... also 8mm. But I think FI will kill me. I''m thinking the set may be my bridal jewelry. That''s what I''m telliing him anyway. LOL. I''m going to buy all the stones now. I really love my garnet but don''t want it to be stand alone. The settings. I''m going to get a qoute for the pendant halo from a local jeweler here. Depends on his price. I am still getting my diamond reset... so I have to be budget concious. My priority has become buying all the garnets and making sure they match. Then setting them all at once later. I am even thinking of giving them to my mother and having her get them set for me for the wedding. Traditionally persian brides get jewelry. This way I would be able to get exactly what I want-- instead of pieces that are to my family''s taste-- and not to mine. (Turqouise ring, sapphire ring... 4 other rings and 5 necklaces too... and 2 bracelets. I have a ton of jewelry I don''t like very much).

I wish I was a Persian bride, to have gotten so much bling bling. We greeks don''t do so bad either, though.

Actually they bought it at diamond.com (inexpensive too) I wear it almost daily and people fawn over it. I need to take some better pictures. It is much more delicate in real life.
