Concerned that blue sapphire stone is too big

Just bought a 2.5 carat (9x7mm) oval Blue Sapphire ring - set in a pave diamond band. But now I think the stone is too big. My finger is approx size 5. My e-ring is approx 6mm so this is quite large. Too showy? Thanks!
