Cons of a low set diamond?

I think people need to list actual dimensions when they say they love their low ring. Low to someone would be high to someone else.

Hi everyone!

I was totally set on a low set diamond until I went to dinner with some girlfriends last night that told me they would suggest at least a medium setting because it would help the stone look better and bigger?

Now I’m not 100% sure. Do you guys think having a low set diamond would affect it in a negative way? Looks wise?

Thanks!!
Michelle

Hi Michelle.
There are several aspects regarding this issue.
First if it is set high it might interfere with your daily work.
It is totally a matter of your taste and willing to show it.
There are settings that by their nature are "high" or "low".
for example, Tiffany style prongs are high and Basket is low.
You have to consider your way of living and your taste and make your choice.
For example if you are a MD and you set it in high settings you will find it very difficult to put on your lattes gloves .

Enjoy your new ring

Photos are even better I think. I consider these two of my rings low.
