Coral

I have been wearing it at work all day :lol-2:
Love it!
I think you could easily go about your day wearing it, and get lots of compliments! Think of it as an opportunity to educate the masses on antique jewels!

I have searching Nigerian wedding coral and have totally fallen in love. I wish I could wear something like this:

Sorry I’m late to this thread but where did this photo come from, omg the earrings are so gorgeous. Help?

Thanks Vesper!

Hi PSers! I’ve had this strand of coral for several years. My mother bought it at a gem show in AZ for me. I have intended to use it to make some custom pieces, necklace, bracelet and earrings. Not being much of a designer, I’ve struggled with what to do. I’ve always envisioned pairing the coral with turquoise and pearls. Any crafty people out there care to offer their thoughts? I have some inspo photos saved on Pinterest.

Also - am I completely naive to think that I can do this myself as a beading project and having a jeweler make me a gorgeous clasp? D5057FD5-BA89-44FE-9812-175A95883640.jpeg

I love the combo-especially that last necklace:love::love::love:so beautifully done.

My good friend from Santo Domingo Pueblo here in NM makes the most incredible jewelry.
I modeled this necklace that he made last summer.

I love the last one too! It’s my favorite one I have found. But I wonder if I am distracting too much from the coral branching by adding all that turquoise. And also adding a lot of cost, that one is def not DIY!!

That’s beautiful! How lucky you were to model it! I love just about everything that comes from southwestern jewelers. The materials and the details and the willingness to go big on scale.

Big pieces of natural colored rose corals. I bought these 30 yrs ago when they were still legal to sell. koi 089.jpg

I’ve been loving coral lately! I was at an estate auction and won this little coral ring. It was listed as possible coral in white metal with a terrible picture in the program so I didn’t have much competition. I have no idea how much coral sells for, but I think I got a deal on it. Turns out it’s real coral set in platinum with a little diamond halo.

My daughter has claimed the little one for the future (only 4 years old) I love the shade of the bigger one and the setting is unusual but definitely different.

They are beautiful!
I am guessing that the bigger one was made in Italy. It has that vintage European look!

Thank you very much,
I believe you are right, there isn’t any hallmarks on the inside.. just a C outside on the shank of the ring. It tested as 14k gold.
