El, I want to come where you are this summer...sigh...
No fair tempting those who don''t have anything resembling peaches or cobbler in their fridges or freezers this time of year...Date: 2/27/2008 12:26:39 AM

Aiiigh. Dah-blum it ... I''m cranky! Its the darkest part of a dark winter here and I''m probably on edge & stir-crazy. Must. Avoid.. Threads. (repeat)
And, hey, all this talk of springtime & peaches has reminded me of the untouched, unspoiled, 100% genuine Ben&Jerry''s PEACH COBBLER pint I have in the icebox.
(wanders off)
LOL, you're right! I did exhibit my share of crankiness responding to your post!Date: 2/27/2008 12:45:35 AM

Now this is CRANKY!
Awwww Monarch -- B&J can be yours too ... if you have about $4 and, you know, deserve it.
Oh NO! Did you see the link embedded in my "this" ... I didn''t mean YOU were cranky or your POST was cranky!Date: 2/27/2008 12:48:53 AM

Awwww Monarch -- B&J can be yours too ... if you have about $4 and, you know, deserve it.I linked to a crazy story about STABBINGS in the Diamond District today! THAT guy was SUPER CRANKY!
Just added on my little comment to you at the end because I saw your Peach Longings. If I could email you the pint I surely would. Me no need calories. Cooling off --- heh, maybe I could use that!
TONIGHT?! TONIGHT?! ARGH! I missed it! NOW I am cranky!Date: 2/27/2008 12:48:53 AM

Awwww Monarch -- B&J can be yours too ... if you have about $4 and, you know, deserve it.Maybe because the AI male contestants were a wee bit disappointing tonight, plus I have no peaches or cobbler within reach...and even if I have $4 to spend on B&J I''m not venturing out on icy snowy streets at this late hour to get some (already made the treacherous trip to the grocery earlier this evening, waaaay before Idol started). Muah, enjoy your b&J, I will be envious from afar.
ETA: Deco, just realized what the first sentence of your post was REALLY about...yikes, it seems like the crime rate really rises in either the horribly cold months or the super hot summer months...making no sense...need peach cobbler...give me some...yaaarrr!
iiiiiii KNOW! and I totally forgot to wear boots the other day! Not only did I wear flats, but I wore my flattest flats!Date: 2/27/2008 1:13:42 AM

OMG sera....wet hems from the rain drives me CRAZY. i always forget to wear heels so that they don''t drag and there is nothing worse than wet denim slapping against your naked foot...argh. that makes me cranky for sure!! hehee.
re: recent cranky threads or people on edge...for me it''s just the natural part of the cycles of a community. PS in general is a very sweet environment....things mostly just kind of move along quite happily. yet...every once in a while, people just rear up. not surprisingly i''m sure, i kind of like it, keeps people on their toes. but i take everything with a big ole ROCK of salt...because i''ve been here so long i''ve seen it all mostly. it''s very cyclical...people on PS are that way too. come and go.
i had mini-cheesecakes tonite so yeah...not cranky. and it was sunny today after a while of rain. flowers. yay!

SDL, It was nice there eh? I haven''t seen the light of day as I have been trying to get all my stuff done before maternity leave. PS isn''t helping!!!
Yes Frekechild...coconuts!And yes, probably jumping ahead to summer, but I love seeing the start of the yummy fruit season. Strawberries will start gettin good in May. I think cherries are June? So many fruits to eat, so little time. And corn salad...that sounds fab....
I wish I was a gardener...nothing says spring like happy flowers!!!
Oh yes.. I could see the outside from my middle of the building cubicle. LOL Ahhhh.. sunshine. I did lunch out in it today, which was really lovely.
Uh Freke.. I would love the recipe for the corn salad.. sounds divine!
I have SAD. I have had it for years. I am dying for the spring to come so I can put my light box away and my moods will lift.Date: 2/26/2008 9:24:36 PM

LOL, this is a fabulous time for this thread! Today on the radio they were naming off the symptoms of SADD, and I was repeating: ''Carb addiction lately? Check. Not wanting to leave the house? Check. Wanting to go back to bed in the morning? Check. Feeling tired all day? Check.'' ICK! That''s bad news bears. Spring needs to come NOW!
I''m looking foward to: BBQing in the backyard, seeing the grass again, the SMELL of grass, leaves on trees, my light jacket sans scarf, flip-flops, driving with the windows down, summer music festivals, taking walks, thunderstorms (yes, I miss them!), sun-tea, visiting with friends (no one will drive here b/c the roads are ALWAYS bad), wearing heels again (haven''t bothered b/c of ice - too lazy, see above, to change once I get to work), taking my class outside to teach on the first warm day even though nobody can pay attention, having the windows open in the house, hummingbirds, our light summer quilt and high thread count sheets (we''ve had flannel out since oct), not carrying my coat when I go shopping, bike rides, sunshine, farmer''s markets, golfing... there''s gotta be more I''m leaving out!!
Maisie, I''ve never been diagnosed with SAD but I''m positively, absolutely sure I have it. You would have been impressed with my outburst today...DH ran downstairs and didn''t come back up for some time...wow. is all I can say. I went straight down to apologize to him (and he accepted graciously but sort of warily as usual), and I realized that this really is a problem of mine. Thankfully he understands that I need tons of sun in my life and "gets" that my winter mood swings are totally not directed at him.Date: 2/27/2008 3:40:22 AM

I know I have had an outburst lately. While I don''t regret why I did it, I think I could have been less personal in my posts. I do feel bad being nasty and offer an apology to Mara for the things I said. I could have worded things a lot better.
If you put as many women together in one room in real life it would probably get way more heated than it does on here. I think we sometimes forget that even though there are names on a screen, there are real people typing and their feelings might sometimes get a bit hurt.
On the whole PS is a lovely place to hangout.
I''m sorry you are having a rough time of it. I had SAD for years before I was diagnosed. I use a lightbox every morning from September to April and its really helping. I got the box last year but not until I had already slipped into the depression, so it didn''t really help. I am actually a lot better this year.Date: 2/27/2008 4:04:15 AM

As far as PS mood swings, typically I don''t think I have them...I am pretty good (I think) about not responding to threads that get me agitated or fired up and just leave them alone. That''s MY story, and I''m stickin'' to it.
LOL! From my near-death bed, I sat here for a few moments wondering what the heck snow bugs were. Honestly, I did. It creeped me out a bit. I wondered if we might have them here. Yep, my mind is not all here...Date: 2/27/2008 12:09:02 AM
