Crystal opal pendant

This is my first crystal opal. It looks like a magical little crystal ball set in a 18k white gold setting. The pendant was hand made by a Swiss born jeweller. I''m very impressed by her craftmanship. Here are a few pictures taken under different lightings.

hahaha...Chrono the pendant doesn''t poke me in the neck but the chain is quite painful to wear though. It caught my hair everytime I wear it.

Is the opal clear.....?????

Try shining a small penlight through the side and see if there is massive color change.

It might be a contraluz opal, if it does.

What a unique pendant! I prefer the second necklace because it matches better than the box chain. The rope chain could be worn with a dressy outfit or a casual one (depending on the neck line).

Very cool! I like the longer chain just because I prefer larger pieces on longer chains. The short one is still pretty, though.
