I am totally watching this season. I'm excited for David, and for JENNIFER GREY!!!!! Plus I enjoy Audrina Pat. Watching last night was awesome, I kept thinking of Dirty Dancing the entire time.

I'm watching this season because of Jennifer Grey also. She looked so pretty last night! It's hard to imagine that so many years have gone by since Dirty Dancing. I read many articles about what a rough time she had after her botched nose job, and how she couldn't get any work because she didn't look like herself anymore. The poor girl went into an awful depression after that. But last night, she looked gorgeous and happy and healthy. I think she'll definitely hang in, all the way to the trophy.

Jennifer Grey was awesome! I'm hoping Michael Bolton gets his mojo soon so we get to see more of him. I'm also pulling for Bristol Palin just because I feel for the kid, and I'd love to see her get something positive out of her inadvertent fame/notariety. And...I'm thinking it's time for Louie to take a break...

Let's start a campaign to get Monica Lewinski on dancing star next year!

I really expected not to like Jennifer. I love the movie Dirty Dancing and I thought I'd be disappointed if she rode that fame train. But, I was actually moved by her performance. I got teary eyed which is totally not normal for me. Perhaps if it was a different song it wouldn't have been as moving. She is a beautiful dancer and I'm looking forward to her performances. I don't have a front runner for the men yet although it'll probably be Cheryl's partner just because I love her!

I was actually uncomfortable watching Bristol and Situation dance. I DVR the show and fast forwarded through their performances.

She was radiant, right? Man ... I wish mid-forties looked as good on ME! She makes me wanna take a yoga class or something. Damn girl!

But I think that Kyle Massey Disney person was the best of the night. He was hilarious AND good. Plus I love having Lacey back on the show.

Wouldn't it be great if Audrina got booted first! I'm so tired of those lame Hills girls. Andy Warhol called, he wants his fifteen minutes back.

I am totally for Jennifer Grey. Watching her dance with Derrick reminded me of Patrick Swayze. I can't wait to see more performances. I wonder if Patrick's wife will be in the audience?

JG's 50 deco. Unreal. Her family must have great genes, although her Dad didn't age very well.

Does anyone understand exactly why Bristol Palin is there? Her claim to fame is that she got pregnant as an unmarried teenager. How many hundreds of thousands of girls in this country could say the same?

This guy was my absolute favorite as well. I hope he can keep it up!

Jennifer was wonderful, and I was also impressed with Brandy and the basketball player guy.

I don't get Bristol Palin though. She was a weird mix of totally awkward and nervous and sexy. And a lot of ballroom dancing is about being sexy. So if she's trying to outgrow the teen pregnancy issue, why is she on a show trying to promote herself as sexy? It's all a mess to me.

And I kinda hope Audrina sticks around. I was such a big hills fan, and she wasn't great, but she looked fantastic, so I'll watch her just for that! (The situation too!)

I cried when I saw Jennifer Grey dance.
It was so emotional and really moved me.

She is my favorite by far.
Grace and beauty just flow out of her with every arm extension.
I think she is a better dancer now that she has matured.
She brings the life experience of a woman to the dance floor.
Time has been good to her for sure, she is beautiful.

I'm rooting for her to go all the way!!!

I DVR'ed it...now I can't wait to get a minute to watch JG.

Dancing WIth the Stars' "star" bar gets lower with each season! Still, although she's no star, I'm sure her name is better known that "the situation" and one or two of the other contenstants. And as I see it, her "claim to fame" is not that she is an unmarried teenage mother, but that she got unwittingly thrown into the spotlight as a pregnant unmarried teenager... and her every move is still subject to that spotlight because of her mothers' candidacy. I'd like to see her do well in the competition just because it will be her chance to have some fun and get something good to balance the downside of having her pregnancy etc. splashed all over the media, and not having any control over it. Also, it must be incredibly difficult for a young woman to grow up and establish her independence under those circumstances and in the shadow of someone like her mother. This gives her a chance to accomplish something that has nothing to do with her mother.

1. I wasn't too surprised by tonight's elimination based on last night's dance performances, but I thought this performer would pull more fan votes. Are DWTS's fans starting to vote more on ability and less on sentiment?

2. Note to Michael Bolton -- that earring just doesn't do much for you. Drop by Pricescope -- between your resources and our expertise, I'm sure we can find the perfect diamond for you...

are you guys DWTS fans? I am really disappointed by the cast this season and don't even think I will watch...

I've watched DWTS every season and I agree that the standards for "stardom" have plummeted, but I don't watch it so much for the star quality anyway. I enjoy seeing the contestants learn to dance, the fact that I feel like I "know" some of them just makes it better. But, honestly, I'd watch it if they were people I'd never heard of. (This is true for the Jersey people, soap opera stars, and some athletes anyway)

As far as the castoff, good. He just makes me cringe.

I cannot bring myself to watch that show. I feel so embarassed for the wannabe celebs and washed up celebs on that show. However, they have to get someone, it's not like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are clamoring to get on DWTS. What's up with Buzz Aldrin on there, OMG, he's an American hero, and I felt embarassed for him too.

Speaking of talent shows, now that J.Lo is a judge on American Idol, I'm no longer watching (and the fact that Simon's gone).

I'm not a huge DWTS fan (I generally only watch when I'm hanging out with my mom), but I've never been embarrassed for the cast members who come on the show. It isn't like going on "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" or one of the ridiculous shows like that. They work really hard, the show never mocks them (okay, Tom probably does a little, but not meanly), and some of them have really benefited from the show. I mean, Kelly Osbourne went from Ozzy's surly and unlikeable daughter to a rather lovely young woman with a job on E!'s Fashion Police! Mario Lopez is no longer just AC Slater! It's always funny to me that Emmitt Smith is one of the best RBs to ever play the game, and yet still gets referenced as the winner of DWTS before they talk about his playing time!

Sometimes I get really into a season of DWTS and sometimes, I'm kinda "meh" about it. I'm not really interested in any of the "celebs" on this season. The seasons that Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson won were my favorites.

And who is Derek Hough screwing to keep getting attractive partners with dance ability every season? Seriously, I looked up every partner he's had since he's been on the show: Jennie Garth, Shannon Elizabeth, Brooke Burke, Lil Kim, Joanna Krupa, Nicole Scherzinger and now Jennifer Grey?

My husband is especially disappointed that there's no Edyta this season. He's been a big fan of her costumes for awhile....

Ugh the cast this season ... not really doing it for me. Although gotta say - Jennifer Gray looks amazing. Holy crap - I can't believe she's 50!

I really liked last season just because some of the dancers were so good (and I also loved Niecy Nash). This season...not that many great dancers among the celebs (I think Brandy has potential as does Audrina). I'm actually liking Michael Bolton too, though he's not that great a dancer, and I also like the two sports guys.

And I can't stand Jersey Shore, and I really really can't stand Jersey Shore guy.

Well everyone that owns a tv or computer and follows any news knows who she is, right? Apparently that's all that makes someone qualify as a "star" for this show.

Yep to all of this. Derek always gets the ringers with the most natural talent. Lame. I'd like to see him paired with a Margaret Cho type of dancer.

I adore Edyta...the show is not the same without her.

TL, I'm behind in the American Idol news, but I know that Simon is gone and so is Ellen and Kara. So who will be sitting there with Randy and JLo?

LOL! I always thought David Hasselhoff was his own biggest fan! He was never very popular with us or anyone we knew. I wasn't sorry to see him get the boot.

Steven Tyler (from Aerosmith)

I know! SO excited!!! I missed the Moonpie!

I'm a spotty DWTS fan, meaning I don't watch every episode and haven't been a super faithful fan...BUT. Just reading you all's responses about JG has got me itching to find the show online and watch. If SS says it brought tears to her eyes than I'm pretty sure it will have the same effect on me. I've always thought she was fabulous and wanted to see more from her...perhaps this will be her redemption and "swan song" in life. It makes me think "what if Patrick Swayze was still alive" yanno? (That is totally morbid and probably unforgiveable, but it's still in my head, sorry.)

Off to see if I can at least find a youtube vid of her performance now, and check out the next scheduled program.

So, I watched both parts on hulu.com and was pleasantly surprised. JG obviously was a "save the best for last" and she didn't disappoint! Loved her, and am looking forward to seeing how she does this season.

Bristol Palin is a "star"?

And they had Tom Delay who is a "criminal".

A money grubbing disgusting show.
