Love this little gal... but for the life of me I can''t seem to get a good picture on my hand..

But it''s very pretty in the LOGR setting.

Love the way the different shades of pink/purple shines through. But I think it''s a bit too dark for a bezel setting, so it will have be in a prong setting. Another project for next year along with my aqua assher!

Oooooo it reminds me of damson or plum jam! Scrumptious!

Beautiful!

I love it!!! Looks like it''s a great looking stone!

How does it look in the bezel setting when it''s not in the box. Those black boxes that LOGR provides makes everything look so dark. Pretty stone.

Looks great - I love the colour!

LovingDiamonds, Vespergirl, Linda, Lauren and blingaddict: I just love the color and it really helped that I didn''t have this color in my collection. It does look delicious, doesn''t it??

TL: I didn''t take the LOGR setting out of the box because the stone is bigger and I did drop it a couple of times to the ground when I had it on my fingers. But I really think it would be better in a prong setting, kind of like the rubellite one that you have.

I do have another setting comming from LOGR and I''ll try that one and see how it looks, its a prong setting, reminds me of a spider.

Which setting did you get? Can you post a pic? Hmmm, I don''t recall a setting that looks like a spider, so I''m curious!

You know, I''m not even usually a purple gal, but I would SO make an exception for that stone!! It looks great in the setting, too. Just beautiful!

This is the setting. I believe this started as one of the low priced auction. I didn''t up grade, but after seeing yours, maybe I should have. Oh well, lets see how this one turns out, I haven''t gotten a ''dud'' from them yet.

It was shipped yesterday, so in 2-3 weeks I should be getting it.

Funny, spiders are not the first thing that come to mind when seeing that lovely setting. Please post pictures when you get it. How exciting!!

with it in that first LOGR setting, but I don''t know a whole lot about stones and such, so maybe you know more thinking it will look better in a prong setting. And, maybe I love the first setting because I''m PINING to own a halo. :) May I ask what your reason(s) is/are for wanting in a prong as opposed to bezel? Is it because of light return, or what??

Mochi,

What an amazing color stone you have and I love it in the bezel setting, but I''m partial to bezels. I can''t wait to see it in the new mounting.....

Mochi, I LOVE the color of your spinel. It will look amazing in that ring too. Dan does an awesome job on his gemstones.

Mochi, I just had to go look to see if there were some more purple spinels.

Did you see his matching tourmaline pair he just finished. GORGEOUS!!

Musey, Packrat, Lori: I was pleasently surprised to see the different pink/purple in this stone, my favorite colors. I may have to name it like WeeSpud.

Linda, TL: I have been looking at this particular setting for a while. It''s a bit different. It''s for a 6mm but I''m hopping that this 6.5mm spinel will fit.

Newsboysgrl: The bezel setting that I posted above is too small for this gem. And yes, because it''s a darker stone, I''m thinking that a prong would be better to bring out the colors.

Marcy: I love Dan''s work and he seems to be such a nice guy. I did see the matching tourmaline. Don''t you think that would make an absolutely stunning earrings? I have to restrain myself. I have bought more gems in the last few days, so I have to stop for this year if I want to get my aqua asscher custom set into a ring. I did contact J.Meyer for it and he''ll be working on this project next year!

OMG I LOVE that color - so beautiful mochi!!

Beautiful!

Mochi, I agree Dan does a great job and seems like a very nice guy. Those tourmalines would make great earrings. I''ve definitely gone over my jewelry budget so I should quit looking - I''ll just find something else I want. I can''t wait to see you aqua ring - it is going to be divine.

Very cool on the plum stone.
