I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Yuki at IDJ will give you a great price on it!! It's absolutely beautiful!!!

Ask for a couple more pictures and an ASET image. As you can see from the previous stones, some ASET's are bad and some are good and you cannot tell just from looking at one photo of the stone.

Lots of potential there. Ask for an ASET. And a picture from the profile and a 'real life' shot of it, instead of a glamor shot.

also i am currently working with Chris at EngagementRingsDirect, if you know of him. Do you know if they do ASET's?

I honestly think you are working with too many jewelers. They all basically have the access to the same stones to call in. I would not be dealing with 3 vendors at one time.

i actually never contacted IDJ...I only used the link on their website to post the stone that ERD has for me.

hard to tell much from the video, i think because of the lighting, but I'd be really curious what the experts in here think about how the stone looks on this video based on the countless other videos of stones that they have seen....thanks much in advance!

The PDF comes up and the stone looks nice. I'm guessing you like the crushed ice look.
How was the pricing between idj and erd ?

cool! did you see the video?

they are both comparable in terms of price!

Is it the quality of the video or does the stone look tinted yellow to anyone? just wondering what others think as my list has definitely been narrowed down...

Personally, I love it!!! Although I would have liked to see a closer shot, but it gives you a great idea and I absolutely love that cut!

HAHAHA, just saw this! I'm a very rare breed. I absolutely love love love crushed ice while most everyone else on here hates it and it's mostly because a particular vendor calls it junk when he refers to these types of stones. My ideal dream ring is a 6ct crushed ice cushion so when you finally posted one, how could I not fall in love. I'm sad you didn't go with IDJ, but the video from ERD looks beautiful!

so I am assuming that you don't care for the 1.59? Can you elaborate on specifically what is turning you off on that stone? Thanks!

Anyone else have comments? I am going to be real close to pulling the trigger on this one soon!

I guess you already know that I don't like it. Crushed ice does not look like a well cut diamond to me. I know they have to do that sometimes with colored stones to make the color more apparent, but there have been much better cushions posted here, in my opinion. Beautiful cutting is one of the main things that PriceScope promotes, so my conclusions have nothing to do with any particular vendor, other than some vendors here specialize in well cut stones. But in reality, you only have to please your girlfriend, and I am sure she will be very happy to get a ring! Most people know nothing about diamonds, so the average person wouldn't know the difference. It's our job to give you the best advice we can, and then you choose what you want!

thank you for your honest opinion! that is why I came on here in the first place. as for the others, I will make one last ploy to hear your comments on the video...would love to hear your opinions please! thank you.

You are very sweet! And I truly do want you to get a great diamond because you are working hard to do so! I think if you did a poll here of a symmetrically cut cushion and a crushed ice, non-symmetrical cushion, it would not even be close. But I sincerely do wish you the best!

I do apologize if i missed it, but scanning though your threads i didnt see if you said your GF likes that particular "crushed iced" look.

If she does thats a good example of it, but if she asked for a cushion i might consider other alternatives. just because when many woman think of what i diamond looks like that "crushed ice" looks isnt the flashy diamond they think of. Now i know you didnt like the open culet look that I had suggested. But there is a happy middle ground.

BUT if she asked for that crushed ice look by all means give it to her!! Just keep in mind that will hold a lot more color. Like ds said its a cut that hold color, thats why fancy colored diamonds are often that type of cut

Hi Nielseel, thanks for the input. she does like the crushed ice look...but I had one follow up question...when you say hold a lot more color, does that mean it will not sparkle or have a lot of shine/fire to it?

thank you!

That isn't exactly what I meant, though crushed ice does sparkle differently and with less flashes than a stone with larger flashes.

What I meant is that if you compare an I round brilliant with an I that has that crushed ice look, the crushed ice one will habe more tint becausenthe cut style hold more color

I'm still at it people! Here is another stone which a brighter color that also made the list...thoughts on this in comparison to the others (thanks!):

1.52 F SI1, GIA, excellent polish, good symmetry, no flour, cutter says that it is eyeclean and also said the following which I'm not sure of the actual meaning:

There is a medium black inclusion in the pavilion which reflects in the corner of table as well as in crown,
There is a very very small open in the crown near the table...

picture:

how bad is it to have a small open in the crown near the table? should i run and hide from this stone? experts out there??? thanks!
