Congratulations! Your husband both look SO confident and happy! And he especially looks like he''s thinking that he lucked out, which is the perfect look for a groom, don''t you think?
As for the decorations, I love everything about it. The night pics are pure magic. Any more?
Congrats to Mr and Mrs Deco - you are both gorgeous! Thanks for the great pics, LOVED the barn and all the fixings, it was so good to see! I am so pleased your wedding was such a happy day for you!
OMG! Deco, you look beautiful! I never would have guessed that dress was a "last minute substitution." It fits you perfectly.
That wedding looks like it may have been the most fun wedding EVER. And I love how your photographer made everyone pose for a pic! Now you will have a cute shot of everyone who was there. Brilliant.
Congrats on an obviously lovely wedding and best wishes for an even more lovely, deliriously-happy future together!
AWWWWWW SHUCKS, BLING PALS! I get to beam & grin *this* Saturday too ... on our "Week-A-Versary"!
It really was the BEST DAY EVER as far as I''m concerned. THANKS SO MUCH for all your comments & votes of confidence & complements! Not to mention how much great stuff I learned from all the prior Bride''s threads! Like - making an effort to take eveything in as it happens ... staying calm ... figuring out what matters & what to let go. Some people might have Bride Guide books & helpful MOH''s & wedding planners -- I had YOU GUYS. Wise, creative, unbelievably crafty & resourceful & ultimately INSPIRING. Not to mention the best cheerleaders an aging-excited-wife-to-be/semi-reluctant-BRIDE could ever HOPE for!
In conculsion:
So ... I''m DYING to know what you guys *thought* I looked like! If this "sweet & cute" thing sticks no one will ever take my Deco Tough Love (tm) with a straight face again!
p.s. -- though the sweatshirt/jeans combo was RARE among the guests, I''m afraid it was entirely our fault. Our "Duds" section of the wedding website advised people to wear "clothes that could double as napkins in a pinch" - due to the ribs/BBQ/picnic vibe. Most people ignored that & dressed "Funky Country" ... but a couple took us to heart. And to that I say ... "Rock on, Comfie Dressers"! It''s a party not a pageant after all.
lol deco i am all about being comfy as well, but i wasjust scrolling through the pics and did a double-take on that one going ''whaaaa?'' then my next thought was... okay peeps i know it was in a barn but...?!! anyway, as to what i thought you looked like...HAH. i thought you had dark hair, i don''t know...soft blonde doesn''t really work with the TUDE. and you just look so friggin FRIENDLY. HAHHAA. i love it though. it''s like a sneak missle attack.
Deco! Wow girl! Everything was magical...I would have loved to be there. Congratulations on a wonderful wedding. I LOVE the dress...you were absolutely gorgeous and happy week-a-versary!
Martha Stewart could take a page from the Deco wedding book! I really like the way you were able to keep perspective on everything (of course all that advance planning probably helped...)
You and your hubby make a beautiful couple. Congratulations!

I totally agree with Mara! I definitely pictured you as a brunette! I''m surprised to see your hair is almost the same color as mine because you seem so with it and blondes don''t usually get taken seriously... not that I let that stop me! I think I also expected you to have a smirk instead of such a beautiful FRIENDLY smile! Definitely a secret weapon!
Although I''m also guilty of picturing Deco as a brunette, what surprised me is how young you look! How did you become so wise and preceptive at such a young age? I really thought you were around my age (34), not ten years younger!
The most striking thing is how happy you both are! You and your beau honestly do glow! And you look sooo beautiful! The dress and sweater shrug is a perfect combination, I guess I''d better take back all the mean things I''ve ever said about David''s!
And those are fantastic engagement photos too! I just love your hair loose like that, particularly in the first one.
Deco, you both look so happy and the barn seemed like an incredible venue! You are so creative and it looked like it was FUN and great, not stiff or stuffy. I am so thrilled it worked out for you, and I know you put in a lot of work to make it perfect! Congratulations!
Yay! That looks like it was a *fantastic* party! Congrats! I also had pictured you as a brunette, ha--I like Mara''s idea of the snark missle attak though
I''m so darn pale it''s be a real "Snow White"-type look! But I''m game? Perhaps I should consult a colorist!
But then I''d lose my "sneak snark attack" powers -- NEVER MIND!
Some answers:
INDIE: David''s Bridal! I know!!! I was such a snob too. I found every excuse not to go there originally ... especially when I heard the "forced undergarment" horror stories ... but when desperation called I could not get my sizeable caboose over there FAST ENOUGH! Where else can you get size 18/20 wedding dresses off the rack, pronto? I found *the dress* immediately, but we pulled a ton of stuff to try on -- bridesmaid dresses etc -- just in case. The reason I knew "Ol'' Marshmellow" was so BAD was that I''d worn a David''s Bridal bridesmaid dress very similar in shape but *constructed* ... i.e. boning in the bodice etc. ... and it looked HELLA better. I was perfectly prepared to wear an ice pink version of that very bridesmaid dress if I had to. Anyway -- the lace one matched the sweater & was so close to my original vision - it was a no brainer. I was singing that catchy "I LOVE DAVID''S BRIDAL" theme song for a solid week afterwards. David''s saved my juicy rump. Big time. Thank you, David''s Bridal! *** Oh ... and I''m 39, not 24 ... but I''ll take that as a complement, Young''un!
INDECISIVE: Hee! We used "naughty bits" in our vows actually. I think it ended up being "my friendship & my naughty bits" ... it just spiced things up (replaced "compassion" in the preacher lady''s pre-fab vows). What was funny was that SHE had to say it ... we just had to say "I DO" at the end. The first time she said it she stammered & said "you guys snuck that in there". I mean THREE ROUNDS of revisions is not "sneaking it in". She was good humored about it though & everyone laughed. Then she had to do it again for HIS PART. When she got up to it she said "here it comes again ... naughty bits". And the Best Man said ... he has "naughty PARTS not bits" ...but no one really heard him. I''d suggested "naughty log" but that would have been too far I think.
BTW --- YOU GUYS are making me woozy with delight with all your sweet comments!!! I was quite skeered to "come out of the photographic closet" ... but I so OWED y''all after all the help/support/cheering on ...
Found a couple more pix on my brother''s Flickr page ... "Smirk" anyone? But this one shows more sweater details & the Pouf & a little more of the fella''s ensemble ... so ...
Deco, you have a beautiful family! I say leave the hair as is, I love the snarky sneak attack! (say that ten times fast!) Thanks again for sharing, you were definitely a glowing bride.
DECO YOU LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! It looked like a fantastic wedding. Your dress looks so perfect with the sweater and hair pouf! I love your hair, by the way...so don''t go changing it.
I cracked up laughing at the "naughty bits" part. SNEAKY!! I wish I were there to see the minister''s face.
Oh and I wanted to tell you how much I love the engagement photos of you and your hubby, especially the one where you''re whispering something to him (the second one I think). The two of you look so absolutely, undeniably, ecstatically in love in that photo. And it just looks so candid and carefree.
DECO!!! I''ve been anxiously awaiting your photos and then I was away so I am just catching up. You are the cutest thing on earth. I''m all teary-eyed here, it looks like such a fun wedding and I agree with others who said it was the COOLEST WEDDING EVER! Wow. I''m so happy for you! And yes, I too thought you were a snarky brunette, the blonde thing is definitely a great decoy!! Congratulations!!
