Hmmm... looks like some 3.5-ers but, you''re right, no four - so far. I''m looking for LESS heel, cause I''m 5''9 1/2 & the Sweetie is 5'' 11ish ... no need to tower!Date: 8/24/2006 12:20:43 PM

You''d carry the flowers from that arrangement-- but NOT the vase down the aisle... with the flowers somehow constructed into a bouquet?
Oh MAN ... I LOVE that idea ... try it out ... if not, head table & then I could use them on my kitchen table everyday (where the cats swat at real flowers & tip over vases) ...then when we eat dinner there, it''ll remind me of our wedding. SAP! I''m a Wedding SAP!!!Date: 8/25/2006 9:06:35 AM

why not order them & play around with them a bit? If they work as your bouquet, fabulous! If not, you can still use them as a great table arrangement (perhaps at the head table, if there is one, or cake table, etc.) & keep them in your home after the wedding & use the sunflowers as your bouquet. Win-win, right?
OMG!! i LOVE this idea!! what about a compromise and have the invites typed on an old typewriter?Date: 8/25/2006 10:31:41 AM

**SLIGHT UPDATE***
I made the terrible mistake of showing The Sweetie these last night and he was like NO WAY on the bouquet thing ... though I think I could mix some in to other flowers as Albi & Gypsy & Fatafelice mentioned & 'get away' with it.
**COMPLETE SIDENOTE**
Who knew what a little traditionalist I was marrying?? A real Mr. Martha Stewart/Manners!!Some wacky things he's totally cool with (me walking to Nic Armstrong's 'Down Home Girl' - or serving only glass bottled beverages -- or recommending people come in 'Little House on The Praire' style garb 'for the laughs') but then, he'll just STUN me with a 'No we CAN'T do THAT' ... like I pondered typing our invite envelopes with an old fashioned manual typewriter (paried with vintage stamps) ... he's all THEY MUST BE HANDWRITTEN! IT'S HOW IT'S DONE!And with the tin flowers ... he was like THAT'S NOT A BOUQUET .. THAT'S RECYCLING!

I think you should start one thread and post all of your wedding stuff, because you are having the coolest wedding ever. And I want to see it all in one place so I can pretend I am cool enough to be going.

''Fraid its tooooo late. We did use "American Typewriter" font for part of the invite though ... I will try to post if I can figure out how ... and we kinda of have an all-lowercase typewriter font theme going through the invites & website & (future) cd cover.Date: 8/25/2006 10:43:15 AM

I used to have a gorgeous mint-condition vintage typewriter (gift from a friend of my Grandpa''s when I was in high school), but I''ve moved so many times I can''t remember where it ended up. We''re going to my parents house in VA over Labor Day & I am gonna search for it & my old sewing machine!
YOU - my dear JCrow - are gonna have to start an invite makin'' side biz!

I hate to say it, but my mind keeps going back to the denim jacket idea. I think that would be adorable with your dress for a barn reception. (Maybe not for the ceremony, but for later in the evening.)
I found this one, but am not sure if it would be warm enough with short sleeves. I think a regular (non-shrug) denim jacket would be adorable too.
