I like clean, simple and classic with a bit of an edge. Just a whisper of edge, not a shout...

Always in heels 3" or above. Today is an exception. I am in a pair of white leather loafers, khakis and a soft yellow polo. I had no sleep, hair still wet in a tight neat bun. Lots of coffee adorning my hands...and sunglasses, big ones.

Summer outfit, but usually paired with a soft fitted cardigan of a brighter tone... (gotta hate air conditioning!)

Ok...ummm...I wanna be YOU when I grow up! Just ONE of your outfits probably costs more than my entire summer wardrobe!!!

I love the look of a nice dark pair of slacks or jeans paired with a crisp white shirt, too. I wear that a lot when it''s not summer. I am not indoors much at all in the summer months, so I tend to dress in cropped pants and sleeveless or short sleeves, but if I was indoors much I would love to dress exactly like you do!

One of my favorite outfits right now is a longer, tunic length white cotton shirt paired with skinny jeans and boots or pumps with a heel. Love, love, love that look!

I am not much of a skirt and/or dress person. For evening wear I tend to wear soft, flowy pants. I love black palazzo pants with a simple top and a chain belt and heels.

cotton shorts with pockets, an elastic waist and a tanktop with no bra LOL
When no one else is around, THIS is my staple outfit LOL

Nicrez I just love this to bits. This would be my style too if I worked in a corporate enviroment.
Care to share you non work attire.

Nicrez,
Please take me shopping. I''m in dire need of clothing.

For everyday wear, anything by Free People or Rebecca Beeson -- both brands are very "me." They''re casual, comfortable, fun, and feminine. Rebecca Beeson''s stuff is priced very reasonably, but I limit my Free People purchases to one item (average price $100) every couple months.

Here''s a Rebecca Beeson top that I wear all the time, and I often pair it with chandelier earrings, bootcut jeans, and strappy wedges. I like this top because it lays close to the body but is not form-fitting -- must conceal muffin top!!!!
Rebecca Beeson black flutter sleeve top.

For dressy events, I like Betsy Johnson and Anthropologie dresses. I have this Betsy Johnson dress and totally love it because it''s so ME. It''s a little-black-dress but with a boho feel (knit material, colorful embroidery). The bonus is that it''s not tight and just lays against the body gently, so I don''t have to worry about my mommy bulges!

The pics posted here look like you are professional models ..Lovely indeed.I like to wear my capris and shirt and comfy shoes that I can walk in for hours. Also like loose fitting dress for around the house especially summer time.Shoes always must be very comfortable for me.

Fun thread !!

I love getting ideas of what other people are wearing!

As for me, another "prep" here... Polo/Lacoste polo shirt, seven/citizens/lucky brand jeans or khaki shorts... havaianas or j crew striped/critter flip flops. Coach bag, coach sunglasses... my e-ring and simple Tiffany open heart necklace, bracelet and mesh knot earrings. Very basic for me. FI is a total prep as well so our only problem is making sure we don''t match too much - it''s not unusual for us to both pick out the same color polo shirt! LOL.

I''m pretty sure most of the pictures posted HAVE been of models! I think they are just showing the kinds of clothes they wear.

I live in capris and a polo or t-shirt all summer. Very boring.

I love this outfit, too. My daughter has had many sleeveless dresses because I love the classic look they have. This is certainly not the perfect "me" outfit unless someone gives me a new body. Or Irina finds the Fountain of Youth and shares its waters with me ;-). It''s the arms that are the problem. I should be glad that, unlike Nora Ephron, I am not yet sad about my throat. Oh, well, I assume that time is coming :-).

When I'm not paying attention or am really tired:
Sneakers, loose jeans, loose cotton t-shirt.

When I am:

Jeans, ankle boots, snug but not lowcut top.

Occasionally knee high boots, knee length or slightly shorter skirt, dressy top.

That's pretty much my uniform. I would love more dresses and such but they usually don't fit.

I LOVE that BJ dress, very casual and yet very stylish. Have never bought anything on line. What does their size "Small" mean? What is it equivalent to (a 0, 2 or 4)? I am 5''2" and weigh abt 112 lbs and on my way to losing more weight (another 6-7lbs). Would this dress in a S be too big and / or too long for me?

Also, is it hot? I notice it says it''s 100% cotton which is good but is it thick?

Cute fitted jeans, a nice blouse and shoes to match (Anything but sneakers)

i love whites, greys and blues. this is my favorite skirt, by agnes b. the top is by 3.1 philip lim, and the sweater is by rebecca taylor. (note, i didn''t actually photograph myself for this thread, i have a blog where i post everyday outfits for my friends

Hi Lien. I'm 5'2" and weigh 102 to 105 pounds, depending on how much crap I've been eating. I have an attractive little inner tube around my waist.
20.gif
The small fits me perfectly. It "lays" instead of "squeezes", and I'm pretty sure it'd fit you just fine. I'd say it's the equivalent to a 2 or 4, depending on the designer. (it's definitely not a 0, since I can actually fit in it!) It's not too long at all, it hits me right at the knee.

As for whether it's hot -- I would say no. Cuz I wore it while walking to-and-fro in 100-degree weather in Vegas and I was fine. Of course, I was going in and out of air-conditioned casinos, but even so, I was comfy!
9.gif
The material thickness is comparable to a light sweater cardigan.

While we were in Connecticut my daughter and I went to an outlet mall with a girl she had grown up with and that girl's mother. It was a bit of a trip from our house but the outlet center, Woodbury Commons, had a Betsey Johnson outlet. I found a knit little black dress that looked stunning on my daughter and bought it for a very reasonable price. She needed the smallest size in dresses wherever we went, so we looked for extra smalls and petites. The smalls were often hanging on her like sacks because of her build. It isn't just height and weight that matter, but build. My daughter has a very small bust with more of a model/ ballerina body than a sex goddess. Her friend, with a similar height and weight, has a large bust and looked sexy in every dress she put on...a deficit when trying to find something to wear to school at 15! My daughter is 5' 4" and 120 lbs. Her friend has to be a similar height and weight but with a 36C or 36D bust.

Sorry to digress, but I love the Betsy Johnson dress I got my daughter! It is simple, but elegant!

Everyone is so stylish-- not that I am surprised with the gorgeous rings on here.

For the past three years, my clothes have been essentially "throw-away", maternity and baby-proof t-shirts and jeans whcih have been spit up on, peed on, etc.. I just don''t see the sense in wearing nice clothes that will be ruined and I just don''t have the energy or time to shop for nicer-looking mom outfits. I have to admit I get a little bitter that my husband leaves for work looking (and smelling) like a million bucks with his nicely pressed shirts and gorgeous ties (he has great taste).

On the one hand I can''t wait to wear pretty and elegant clothes again but as soon as that day comes, I know my little ones will no longer be little

As someone else said, I feel the most me when I am all dolled up for an elegant evening out. I don''t do casual that well.

Thank you for asking. I would love to take some photos of her, but do not know that she will oblige me. I am sooooooo tedious!

Deb

PS-Her friend with the large bust is of Pakistani background and absolutely stunning. Boys would look at her even if she did not have large breasts. One can only imagine the trouble she could get into, but she is a serious student from a serious family. I keep trying not to make unfavorable comparisons when she and my daughter are together! Her grades alone would make most mothers of mediocre students, like my daughter, choke!

Man I feel like a slob!
Summer casual: Army green gap shorts with a black short sleeve polo, or boot cut jeans with my favorite Anime shirt. Combined with my favorite do everything black mephisto sandals. (I can even hike in them!)

However, I''m currently wearing one of my favorite lazy sunday summer outfits: a very light cotton salwar kameez in light and dark green with silver embroidery.

Thing2of2, we have the same taste! Do you shop in Nolita, by any chance?

I like form-fitting clothes and quirky shoes. I''m definitely not conservative, but nor do I wish to dress like a teenybopper. Parker Posey-a-like is probably my happy medium.

Thank you, KD. Darn, you are petite!! I am so jealous!

Haha. "Inner tube" is an American expression that refers to that lovely layer of fat and loose skin that tends to get deposited around a woman''s waist as she ages or gives birth. You can pinch all the way around your waist and get a nice fistful per pinch. Yuck! I am petite but my "inner tube" totally negates my ability to look shapely. I sadly said buh-bye to my waist after having my second kid in January 2005.
20.gif
Oh well, they were worth it.
9.gif
Anyway, this waistline on this dress hits *above* my inner tube, which conveniently camoflages that problem spot. Yet another reason to love it! Let me know what you think of the dress. I hope you adore it.
13.gif

I have a lot of them depending on my mood. (which is usually being comfy but I cannot always manage that).

I love a cute pair of sweats and a hoodie in the winter, in a dark rich color. Probably with something really soft and comfy on my feet to keep them warm.

In summer, I love comfy but not too sloppy dresses to slip on with a cute flat or flip flop. Dressed without being too dressed up or feeling hot. Add a couple of great bangles and pretty dangly earrings.

I love a great black cocktail dress with heels and a clutch, and a cute topper coat like a satin trench coat. it is a never fail outfit for diner parties or going out dressier. I even like shorter dresses now for black tie, though a long dress is still a great choice.

My all time favorite is a great pair of dark jeans, a nice tank or fitted t shirt, a Chanel jacket, long necklace strands, a pair of heels and a great bag. Not sure about earrings (hoops, studs or dangles) and bracelets, often a stack of thin bangles or one larger one depending on sleeve length. There is something about this outfit, it is basically perfect to wear almost everywhere, except the most casual or most dressy event. I can put a pair of pants on if jeans are not appropriate and it looks great.

I have some "classic" looks that I tend to go for. I''m an hourglass shape, so I always try to have a nipped-in waist. Some of my favorite designers are Nanette Lepore, Robert Rodriguez, DVF ... I get a lot of clothes online at Anthropologie (no store in London!)

What I really adore are designer handbags. They ALWAYS fit and I think they can make even the cruddiest, plain outfit look spectacular. Some people go for shoes, others go for handbags!!

In my collection, I''ve got 2 Chloe bags (Paddington and Edith - both in tobacco-colored leather); red D&G bag (with leopard lining - got it in the January sales at Harrods for 50% off); black Marc Jacobs quilted satchel (unsure of the style name - it''s got 2 horizontal zippers on the front and bling-y gold shoulder strap); 2 Botkier bags (Trigger Luxe and Bianca - Trigger in beige-ish and Bianca in black); 2 Kooba bags (Paige in dark brown and Claudia in sand); I do have a Burberry satchel but I don''t use it here in London so my mom has it; plum Celine east-west bag; this is sounding ridiculous so I''ll stop here ......
