LOL! I work about 8-12 hours a day, sometimes dinners or drinks after work (still working most times). It makes for a long day, but also one where you need to look your best at all times. It''s likely because living in NY, you are in a constant state of netowrking and walking amoung the well-coiffed, so it''s knee-jerk reaction to don on heels to food shop. Also consider I work but a few blocks from Saks (and Jimmy Choo), which is where this dress is from, and many a fine outfit comes from at lunch or after work...

But on weekends, depending what I do, it could be anything from jeans and a fitted knit top and strappy wedges to cotton dresses. I have found some decent items at H&M, but in general I like to buy things on sale at Saks, or Bloomingdales because if it's too cheap it can be see through, which I HATE. I buy things I really like, not just on impulse. I learned to get less but buy better quality. Things that last longer, and can be washed and dry cleaned several seasons and still look great. That is the reason why I hardly EVER wear anything too trendy. I refuse to waste money on an item that is popular for a season, when I prefer to wear what I like as long as I can still fit in it! I have a classic Calvin Klein suit that I have worn for the past 9 years and the straight leg pants, and single button jacket are still nowhere near out of date. I love that sort of longevity in my wardrobe! And if super casual I wear light cotton pants, leather flip-flops, and a light cotton tank and sweater.

I tend to dress in skirts and heels, just because I am like that since I was a little girl. But in the winter, I do wear wool pants, and dress shirts (LOVE french cuff) sometimes with a sweater vest or sweater over it.
