Designing a cup for my WX radiant

forgot to include my inspiration picture for the flowers. I’m wondering if I should enlongate the open space in the petals to touch the center like in my inspiration picture. My CAD looks a little more puffy. Am I right to assume the finished flowers will look more refined? IMG_7102.jpegIMG_7273.jpeg

I’d be tempted to do so, but also I’d keep in mind each square box in the background of your cad is 1mm. Making the ‘line’ of each petal, I’m guessing, less than 1/4mm in width. I don’t know constraints of mfg. can’t hurt to ask them the possibilities and possible drawbacks or considerations, if any?

You are amazing! Thats exactly what I’m talking about! I’m still deciding if I want to do a bunch of flowers or go back to three but this is more more or less less the style that I want. Those petals just look off to me, but I know things can always look bulky at this scale in the CAD.

I think it’ll look a bit more refined than the CAD but at least with my CAD, I spent a long time refining the CAD itself.

I definitely think it’s worth opening up the petals to look more like the inspiration.I sort of prefer fewer flowers like the 3 flower version bc I think it will make the floral element more visible.

Do you have an iPad and an Apple pen? That’s how I do all my drawing. I found it super helpful. Just drew right on the CAD, was the easiest way to communicate with David.

Thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have an iPad. I’ve been playing with my other rings and I’m leaning towards going back to the three flower design with these new flowers. I think these are going to be so sooo tiny.

Adjusting petals and plugging into original 3 flower design. Fingers crossed this is it.

Honest thoughts? I asked for him to enlongate the petals and sent @Rfisher drawing for an example to but I can’t tell if he did that or missed that part. My initial thought wasn’t positive but I’m in a bad mood. It’s starting to grow on me. It just doesn’t have the coverage that the other 3 flower CAD had and I hate that stupid connection piece on the bottom petal but maybe I’m overthinking it.

Thank you for the encouragement! I was excited to get the CAD today but it’s just still not it. I’m so close to throwing in the towel with this one. I can’t decide what my next move should be. I kind of want to see these new flowers with the 3 large design but I’m trying to really think it through. I feel like I’m being such a pain in the ass. We are on CAD #4 with this project. I wish I could photoshop.

Hang in there and if something isn’t sitting right (pun intended) in CAD, just keep at it. Have you tried tracing paper and trying to move the flowers around? I literally have been able to show them what I wanted with my crappy scribble drawing.
Are you planning on milgraining? That can help delineate the design if the flowers touch. That can’t be shown in a CAD and it was the game changer for my ring.

Maybe that’s it…some of the flowers need to be different sizes?

I just ordered some graphing paper so I can play around but I'm so frustrated that I’m not sure I can continue. This is CAD five for the stupid flowers. I wasn’t planning on milgrain. It’s probably something that I would add after the fact if I wasn’t happy.
