I want some everyday studs and I have fallen in love with the full bezel style.

I need a size that''s not too flashy, I live in an area of the country that is very casual (ie: jeans to church). I am even self-conscious of my ring at times as it really stands out compared to what others wear.

I want a thin bezel that is flush on the ear. I just acquired a Blue Nile Platinum bezel pendant that I love, and that''s what makes me want bezel earrings as well - I like the thinness of the BN bezel.

I was about to get option #1 until Whiteflash added their version. It looks from some pics that I''ve seen that their bezel is pretty thin - any thoughts on that?

(1)
Blue Nile Platinum bezel studs, J/SI1/AGS0 around .6, $1100
These really bug me that the setting alone is $450

(2)
Whiteflash Bezel ready set go - Platinum .5 TW ES H-I/SI $990

(3)
Whiteflash Bezel ready set go - Platinum .75 TW ES H-I/SI $1425

So, at this point I am leaning to option #2. DH is pushing for option #3. I am worried about being too flashy. I am also wondering if going up in size for $425 is a good value.

Anyone throw in an opinion to get me moving on ordering these today?

I need to stop obsessing and ORDER!

Hi Coconutpig,

Honestly I would go for option 3, they will still be an elegant size and I think you would be pleased you went with the slightly larger ones in the long run.

I agree. That''s a lovely size, but definitely not flashy. When I got my studs, I didn''t want them too big/flashy either. Mine are not bezeled, and are 1.16 ctw. I find them perfect. So I think .75''s with a bezel would be just fine. A nice, noticeable size, without being too much.

Another vote for option 3. I think that would be a perfect every day size.
And if DH is pushing for #3 too??

Yah!!

Option 3 of course!

I think it depends on the size of your earlobes, your hair and your lifestyle. I tend to like smallish studs on some ears -- I''m thinking of getting a smaller pair to wear for everyday casual. (I currently have 1.25ish ctw, martini cut and am thinking of getting a .5ctw bezel set just like the ones you are looking at.) I have small earlobes tho. If these are your only pair, and you want them to last, I think I''d probably go the the larger ones. You don''t want to out grow them too quickly! And, you can return them if they are just too big...

Much as I want to jump up and down and say #3! #3! I think it really depends on your ears. I have teeny tiny earlobes and if I was going to buy similar earrings I''d go for the .5ctw.

Ditto! My earlobes could not carry off 0.75ctw in bezels.

Does this help? Found it in the SMTR thread (thanks geckodani!)

.25 tcw are 3.2mm before the bezel, and 4.2mm after.

.50 tcw are 4.1mm before the bezel, and 5.1mm after.

.75 tcw are 4.6mm before the bezel, and 5.6mm after.

Looks like you''d gain about 0.5mm which is just noticable (or so they say in erings!).

Option 3 will make you and the hubby very happy, I think!

What do you do with your hair, generally? For example, my hair is long and very dark. I usually wear it lose, so my 1.5ctw studs are just barely large enough to actually be seen.

If you wear lots of ponytails, or you tuck your hair behind your ears, or have lighter or shorter hair, the earrings will still be visible with either option, but since you have a full bezel, #3 will give you just the right amount of sparkle.

Just picked up the .75's in plat. Looks like the Plat and WG are the same price at this size :) Should be here by Tuesday!

You can always return if you think they are too flashy but I think you will like the size!

If hubby is going for the big ones I''d take his advice!!!! They won''t be too flashy at that size. They''ll be perfect! If not, send them my way.

I also own the BN bezel pendant! I personally would go the WF route since the price is comparable. Their setting is much more beautiful and well-made in my opinion than the BN one, especially the gorgeous martini profile. I don''t think the .75 ctw would be too flashy, but you could always order both and return one? That might be the route I would go and that would let you take them for a test drive.

OK I DID IT!

The winner is.... WF .75 studs.

Thanks for all your advice and considerations - such as hair and lobe size! In the end I did realize, OK, if they are just too big I can exchange them.

I had trouble ordering them on the website, so I had to call. Tracy was really nice and helpful. She said she''s having a lot of calls from people having trouble ordering online today. She also said these were new and gorgeous.....

Anyway she also quoted me for the exact same style in the ACA diamonds (which are upgradable). For .6 tcw (vs .75) they were about $200 more. However, the bezel alone for this option was $600 (!!!) so I''d only get about $1000 to use to upgrade. I can''t imagine I''d upgrade these anyway as they are such an every day style - I would just get another pair - HA!

Beach - let me know when you get yours! These are my xmas present so...I should probably not open them until Xmas.....

Kcourselle - that''s great to know you think these are better then the BN - wow then!

Great decision!!!! Can''t wait to see them!

Woohoo, I think you made a great decision!! Please come back with some pics...I want a pair of these too!

Congrats! FWIW, I''m very self conscious about jewelry and not into flashy at all and my .82 ctw studs are ideal. With .75 set in bezels, you''ll love them and they''ll look perfect.

Too late to vote but you made a great choice! ETA: I can't wait to see them.

Yes, I definitely think you made the right choice with the .75. Can''t wait to see the pics!

Yay! I think you''re really going to love these!

Here are the actual pics of my order from WF! These are .75's set in platinum and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow :)

Forgot to post the pic :)
