Hi,

I am trying to choose a diamond for an engagement ring. I'm looking at these two amongst others, and would like to know why the one is $2k more than the other, I can't see anything in the certificate... same HCA score... is it only because of the color, F vs G? Any help much appreciated :)

What I'm basically trying to find out is whether there is anything wrong with the second one posted, there is no idealscope image attached...

Cheers!

Yes, it does look like only color difference, a big jump from G to F. The second stone looks promising. You can request for an Idealscope image.

Request an idealscope image. I wouldn't buy a stone without seeing one - especially considering the amount you're going to be spending.

Yeah, I requested an idealscope image already, takes about 72hours.

Thanks!

Thanks! I have the Idealscope pictures, I'm definitely no expert, but I think these look good, nothing to be concerned about right?

Any comments greatly appreciated.

The IS and heart images look great!

ditto - nice, no concerns :))

Thanks for all the replies! Turns out the images they sent me were the wrong ones, caught it just before buying. These are the correct ones.

The hearts image doesn't look very uniform, is that because of the diamond or the machine used?

I think the Hearts and Arrow images look good!

IS looks nice, misshapen hearts patterning looks like slight tilt during photography. Would not worry.

are you referring to what appear to be asymmetrical splits in the hearts? (instead of splitting down the middle, it appears to be more to one side?)

I was referring to the outer edge (circumference?) not coming out as nice looking as in most other images.

well the arrows images is straight and looks great....i think like yssie- maybe the hearts image is tilted?

imaging artifact (upping contrast/colour saturation up post-photography)

uneven Vs due to slight tilt during photography

This is a great diamond!

The 2 halves of the hearts are disjointed, no way that should pass as a H&A.

agree,not a true H&A stone photo.

This also happens in other brands, no?!?

StoneCold/DancingFire,

We are working very diligently to make sure that every diamond in the TrueHearts program is up to par with the best of the H&A brands. Unfortunately, our photography department still doesn't understand how important it is that we spend the time to line up the diamond and camera perfectly. To that end I asked that the hearts image for the 1.14ct G-VS1 be retaken this morning and I'm attaching to this thread. I cannot comment on the quality of the diamond itself, but I hope that this image is better representative of the internal symmetry of the diamond being discussed.

All the best,
