Congrats - nice choice! Choose a four prong setting from James Allen website and have the diamond set before shipping. Then you will have the entire ring in hand.
 
Too late because the stone has already been shipped.
I will try to google a picture and send it to my jeweler.
There are several types of designs
I'm looking for a slim 4 prong design..
 
My main advice is to look for an integrated head not a peg head, as the former looks for elegant.

Gorgeous diamond, congrats!!

Is she into jewelery? Does she wear rings? If yes, then I wouldn't recommend picking a setting yourself. She probably has preferences, and how would you feel if she picked your next car or watch or whatever and expected you to use/wear it whether or not you liked it? If she's not into jewelery, it's less risky, but if she is, then I don't recommend doing it all on your own. I like round diamonds and solitaires, but I wouldn't like any of the settings you and others showed above. Nothing wrong with them, it's all just personal preference. Also do you know how she will want to wear the wedding band? If she prefers a flush fit, then none of those will work, there will be a gap.

One option I would prefer would be to have the jeweler set the diamond into either an inexpensive setting that you wouldn't mind setting aside (maybe put a moissanite into it later for a travel ring?), or ask your jeweler if they can "loan" you one for the proposal, then swap it out for one of her choice. The jeweler my ex used offered the latter option. Or just present the diamond alone for the proposal. I get that it's more fun to be able to wear the ring right away, but a few weeks vs. theoretically the rest of her life, I don't think it's worth the risk.

Of the first 3 you posted, the second one would be my favorite. The third one is too squatty. All the bands on these look too thin.
How big are they? I would suggest 2mm. This last one you've posted is nice (the 4th one). Band still looks thin though.

I want a thin ring so that the stone stands out more.. I prefer a delicate ring and not too thick.
 
I’m not really in support of totally surprise engagement rings, but regardless, I don’t like that setting that you showed last because rings that delicate are just asking for a good whack against a table or a wall and the head could pop right off. Four very thin prongs equals danger of losing a diamond.

What would the intended wearer prefer? You won’t wear it, she will.
 
So ask for a ring at least 2mm thick?
 
You also need to plan ahead in terms of the wedding band. Will it have diamonds? Does she want it to sit flush with her e-ring? Some of your settings have the diamond quite low, and if the wedding band has some height, the two rings will not sit flush with each other.

This is why we recommend getting her opinion somehow - either through one of her friends or family. Does she want her bands to sit flush? Does she want diamonds on her wedding band? Does she already have preferences for her engagement rings style.

The last setting has the diamond too exposed in my opinion. Light doesn't really enter the stone from the side, so that's where you want some security. if a single prong on that last setting gets caught on anything (sweater, curtain, etc), the stone will potentially fall out of the setting. A gallery across the prongs can be beautiful and also adds security.

Lots of info - I know - for what you wanted to be a complete surprise. But hopefully, she will wear this forever. So you want her to be thrilled with it. Good luck!
 
In the end, I hope that I will succeed in the task and that she will like the design.
You convinced me to give up the last design.
The ring will be without additional stones.

These are the 2 designs I think she will like.

I think this design is most classic and elegant if she likes that style. It is similar to a classic Tiffany and Victorian style basket. The other is more modern. If her style is classic then I’d go with this one. If her style is more modern I’d go with the other.

I wanted to ask if there is a way to see the number of the stone when it is already embedded in the ring?

Is this technically possible?

Is this possible with the X30 magnifier?

It is very important to me to make sure that I received the correct stone according to the certificate number they provided me.

Is there a way to see the stone number even though it is already set in the ring?
 
Maybe - generally they put in on the girdle. So could be hidden if you put in a bezel or partially obstructed by a prong. Also some are not as dark/contrasted so hard to read....

sample - you might also be able to use magnifier on your smart / iphone...

it's actually one argument in favor of Si1 diamonds w/ Fluor... it's like a fingerprint
example...the 2 plotted crystals @ this Si1 would be easy to find with Magnification yet stone is most likely eye clean... and the fluor you just hit with a UV light....
