Diamond Pendant - NYC?

A few years ago this forum was so helpful and I’m hoping for some more wisdom.

It’s my 50th birthday early next year and I’d love a diamond pendant. We’re in the UK. Budget is around £2k or $2.5k. We’re in NYC after Christmas, is there anywhere you’d recommend we go?

I’m drawn to the Cartier 1895 style or the Tiffany DBTY. Really simple. My ER is just shy of a carat and I’ve got a size 4 ring finger. Am quite petite. My diamond studs are small. So I’m thinking a 0.5ct is probably achievable.

I realise this is a very modest budget by PS standards! But it’s a good UK budget I think.

Would anyone like to help steer me in the right direction? Alternatively we could buy a diamond and have it made in London if you think that’s better.

I don't know about jeweler locations in NYC, so I can't help much there.

OP, you can get in touch with Lesley at BGD in advance and tell her what you are looking for and your budget. BGD also does LGD so you can get a real good bang for your buck. My Step-daughter just got her ER from BGD and they did a spectacular job. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I love the look of the BGD pendant, but obviously can’t get to Texas, I’ll have a look at the shipping and customs side to see how it stacks up against having something made here.

Would you advise going with a BGD diamond to make sure it’s high quality? Are there any particular things to think about for a pendant diamond? When we upgraded my ER we were clueless and just got lucky with a decent diamond so I’d like to make sure we’re a bit more informed this time! Blue Nile ships to the UK so buying a diamond from them and having the necklace made here in London is also an option.
