Yes #OMBAS2027 please. I need some time to save haha. Would love to see all my bling sisters and their rings IRL. Hopefully we can all build a bling fund and be dispatched off Ban Island by then lol.

Lol also you don't need a go fund me page, I think you'll save more by banning yourself from TRR hahaha and that "somebody's gotta buy this piece" thread lol.

I have temporary been given a reprieve from Ban Island on good behaviour to celebrate a significant birthday this year.

This could well be my only bling purchase for some time.

I was eyeing a 3 carat blue sapphire ring for my year of sapphires. But the house taxes are due and I just learned that a whole circuit of electric is off in the basement. This is where I overwinter my plants under grow lights and it affects two rooms in the basement. I will call an electrician on Monday. So, I am back on ban island.
 
Update- the electric is fixed. A loose neutral wire in a junction box. That sapphire ring is calling but will wait until I get an electrician over to inspect the house wiring in case there are other issues lurking.

i hope the plants are ok and its not too cold down there, make sure the sparky gives your job priority

council rates (that's what we call house/ property taxes) are the bane of my existence
our council have cut back on so many things that make our little city special but we still had an increase,
honestly i feel like i work for the council because so much of my wages go to them
i dont know how older people who just rely on the govt retirement pension get on ?

ours was redone in the '90's but it was hardly an upgrade

It's a great thread to bump! I want to hear confessions on those who took a day trip off ban Island and what they bought before they came back home. :)

I myself took a daytrip when no one was looking, bought a sapphire ring and snuck back home to the Island.

Ahhhh, high dome rose cut, God, thank you for creating diamonds, I seriously love me a high dome rose cut, I should just quick peek and see what’s out there right now… that would look gorgeous in a sapphire halo, platinum, Edwardian filigree omg a platinum cup with a beautiful engraved bootie, but that’s super high maintenance … but wait, ITS SUPER HIGH MAINTENANCE! That means less time doing house work, less cooking and cleaning!!!! …. Help I’m slipping :lol-2: IMG_4055.webp
