Called Oded at Crystal Cruises. He''s going to look into it for me. Mediteranian Cruise. Greece and Italy. Sounds very... pricey. But also lovely. So we''ll see. It would be really nice to do that, however as Fi family is itallian. AND they leave out of either Venice or Athens... so it''s inconvenient for everyone... which is just perfect, frankly.

Called Couples Swept Away and left a message. That price sounds perfect. Worried about photography, though I like the dance floor.

I will also find out about Hawaii... just in case. Anyone know anything about tahiti or the canary islands or anything else... I''d really like to have FMIL on an island full of ''ethnic'' people who are ''different'' than she is.... woud just make the wicked side of me sing. Jamaica would be completely freaky for her. Although... at a resort it wouldn''t be too much culture shock. Darn.

The only types of receptions I have the patience for are... the type where I do no planning and it''s all inclusive so it doesn''t cost me too much extra.
Very cool.

LOL about all of the "ethnic people" freaking out your FMIL. Everyone at CSA was so kind & wonderful to us. I have such fond memories of our time there. That said, I don''t think I would''ve wanted to traipse around Negril by myself. There''s a lot of poverty on the island & I''ve heard about a good amount of crime as well. The resort was so beautiful & there were so many things to do there that we never had the desire to leave.

You''re right--a DW is definitely self limiting as far as the guest list is concerned. My mom was very concerned with all of the details that I didn''t want to fuss with (table arrangements, place cards, etc.), but I kept telling her that the resort would handle everything & we didn''t have to worry about it. No problem, mon. And everything worked out well. Mom even told me at the reception how much she liked all of the choices I''d made. (This was hilarious to me as I had no idea what was going to show up in the way of food, table decorations, etc. Fortunately, it all turned out well!

And the type of reception you mentioned above (I copied your quote from another post) is exactly the type I had!

If you''re really interested in a DW, but not sure which resort you''d like to choose, it might be a good idea to talk to a travel agent who specializes in DWs. I used Roads Less Taken & Carol & Beau were really helpful & took good care of us. They spent a lot of time with me via email & phone to decide which resort would best meet my needs. Their site also has a lot of interesting articles on DWs.

I wish I''d put more effort into selecting a photographer for my wedding. If you decide to go with CSA, there are several off-site vedors in Negril who do photography. (Sungold & Diana Campbell at DMC to name a couple) You can poke around on the Couples message board & see lots of people''s wedding photos at the resort. I''ll warn you that the photographs tend to be on the cheesy side (photoshopped effects, etc.) but they are also beautiful because the location is so stunning.

Ok, I''ll shut up now. I feel like I''ve giving a sales pitch for the resort!
