Icicles, I play with the Diablo Valley Philharmonic (in Contra Costa County, 25 miles east of San Francisco). Its a community orchestra made up of people like myself with full time day jobs but a love for music.

That's so nice! I played the flute for 10 years but have not touched it since college. I always envy people who kept up with it. These fingers (and embouchure) don't work as well anymore w/o practice!!

Hi,

I played in a similar orcherstra as cflutist. I currently teach, play in small groups for weddings and play in the woodwind quintet associated with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra (TSO). My husband is president of its board. I don't know where he finds the time. I'm very glad I've kept up my flute playing all these years. I earned about $1000 this spring doing gigs. I'm really a speech/language pathologist waiting for the school season to begin
