Thanks Diamondseeker. It should really do more than collect dust. ;) I am promising myself to wear it more...

BTT: going through this thread for ideas.......a lot of the links we posted are no longer functional. sigh.
anyone have anything new?

Not mine, but some 24k bridal jewelry from local jewelers in Hong Kong that I've been admiring (wedding's in March but my family is not traditional so I don't think I will get to wear anything like this, unfortunately).

I particularly love the last picture: necklace with dragons!

sometimes being traditional is a good thing?!

I usually am not a yellow gold fan, but this stunning. I love this necklace, and it's the first time I have heard of Just Gold. Is it possible to buy in the US? Would you mind giving us a ballpark cost?

Off the top of my head I think the range would be about $15k ish? It's 24k and super heavy. Gives me a headache to wear it. Soft too. I had accidentally folded one of the leaves to a 90 degree angle and just unfolded by hand. Fixed. It wearable but I wouldn't wear it everyday. I'll try to find a more exact number for you. Did you check out the website? I posted it earlier in the thread.

Just checked the website. It works. Choose Hong Kong and English.

Just started wearing these this week. My mom gave them to me. Apparently she has multiples but just let's them sit around. Omg. I've wanted a three band for years and she's had them all along. But these are 3 separate rings. And the studs are hers too. A little huge but fabulous from a distance. I love yellow gold on my ears. I think it works with my skin tone.

LLJsmom, thank you! I wasn't able to find the necklace, but it seems they don't have a store in the US anyway.

That's great that your mom shared more gold pieces!

Beautiful gold pieces!! And your sari is exquisite. Sari fabrics are about the most beautiful in the world, imo.

re last picture: I wasn't that impressed with the necklace...until I saw it on you!
it is an absolutely wearable piece that is understated yet classic.
and you wear it with great style.
admittedly, now that you've opened that door I would love to see pictures of you wearing the other pieces.
i can even see this particular piece worn by a western business woman. a very powerful statement piece without being over the top.

and you have GORGEOUS hair!

Thank you movie_zombie for the kind compliment...now that you have asked...here is another one of me with another necklace I love, but my hair is tied up....

Finally, some gold studs. Ears still are not healed, but I'm still really liking these 24k studs. The big ones are a little in-your-face, but they look good from a distance.

These are the small ones I wear daily. sorry pic won't rotate :angryfire:

Thanks movie zombie. I've been avoiding the big ones but may rotate them in if you think they're not too obtrusive.

over time I've become very much a fan of bigger is better when it comes to simple designs.
yes, I think it looks very good on you!
if you rotate them out several times a day I'm betting people won't notice and/or will get used to it.
wear them and enjoy!

my 22k gold and pearls replica of earrings found at Pompeii project is completed.
this is a picture before they were hammered and have a more "aged" look which I like better.

Nice earrings, MZ! I really like them, different & noticeable & lovely pearls. Cool find! What is Pompeii project?

Looking at the beautiful Indian & Chinese jewelry, I'm getting the feeling I was born in the wrong country!

my Pompeii project thread is in the Pearl Forum. these are a replica of earrings found in Pompeii and when I saw them I said, "I must have them".

Tagliamonte Vicenzo is an interesting company.
Last month I went to gemfair, and I saw similar design from Los Angeles (or NY) based jeweller. It was obviously ver copy-cat like, just more substantial. I think Tagliamonte keeps it very antique looking, hence it is look more like hand made than machine made.
