What do you think of this ring? We have been looking for the perfect engagement ring and I don’t want him to spend a lot, 2k max, and we don’t want lab grown gems. I just can’t justify spending

As someone who's previously had a split shank ring, I wouldn't recommend it for an engagement especially if you want a wedding ring that sits flush. Are you open to a preloved/antique ring?

Yeah someone did point out the wedding band would maybe need to be custom made which I guess would be expensive…

Yes open to a pre owned ring

Here's a really nice old cut diamond that a PS'er has listed, although it is a bit warm. You and your partner could work on a setting although that might be a little over budget.

Here's another nice option but a little over the budget.

Alternatively you could have a look at some diamond + ring setting options from places like James Allen and Blue Nile etc. PS'ers can help you vet stones or help you choose depending what shape you'd like.

I'll have a look at some other options.

I would r recommend buying a nice round brilliant (less money per carat and easier to buy online) in a plain metal solitaire from James Allen or Blue Nile as suggested. That will allow you to ensure you get a high quality diamonds with a lab report and don’t over-spend on the setting.

There are great comments (about a wedding ring, etc...) above. I was trolling TRR and found this ring... BIG presence, comes with a GIA, and I did get to see the stone (in person at one of their retails stores - it faces up CLEAN and WHITE! The photo does not do it justice.TRR - cluster engagement ring.pngI was helping a friend look for an engagement ring... this ring is PERFECT for a starter. It really looks much bigger than it is because of the halo, and would always make a lovely pendant in the future.
And, you've got 30 days to return it if you don't love it.

Let the OP decide.
The ring I posted is only $830.... well under the OP's budget. And, available to return for 30 days.

I love it and I don't usually like halos. I think you could wear it alone, it doesn't need a wedding band.

Definitely was replying to the OP, not you! I meant that the other options posted by PSers were better than the original option
