Do you own your holy grail ring?

I'm not sure who owned it originally - I just know that Christies auctioned it within the last year or two. She's my dream ring. Isn't she sublime?!

If you ever chase her down and fancy a timeshare - I'll bet we could drum up another dozen PSers to pitch in

Done! And then we'd only need 750k each, I'm guessing....

Auctioned off by Christies in 2017 - estimated range - 10-15m. No heat 15ct ruby with goodness only knows what ctw in diamonds! No idea of its provenance but I'm guessing her pedigree is impeccable.

Deleting. Politics, I know. My fingers couldn't help themselves.

And here's the bad news...I meant to type 750k but didn't hit the key hard enough. Went back and added some deets as well.

But paying $750 in taxes would sure be a nice start! If not the ruby, I could at least get the diamond I've always wanted!

For my e-ring, I definitely have my HG ring! I've never been big into diamonds (no offense to the diamond enthusiasts here) but my guy insisted on having a custom diamond engagement ring made for me because he comes from a very traditional family. I love it for its simplicity and elegance and ease of wearing but also because he bought it for me when we were just out of college and were not making a great deal of income yet. He saved and saved for a long time despite his family offering him a generous sum and a strong suggestion to get a diamond over 2 cts. I didn't want one over 2 cts because I travel frequently so this 1ct sparkler turned out to be just perfect.

I am still in the process of thinking about my non-engagement ring HG piece, though! I absolutely fell in love with a designer who makes pieces that are inspired and out of this world:Screen Shot 2020-09-30 at 3.59.52 PM.png
Sooo I inquired about a custom piece and set about finding a stone. Come to find out, we actually get our stones from the same dealer who specializes in unique gemstones that are ethically sourced. I'm still not 100% set on a design yet but I did find the perfect center stone, a 2.54 ct minty teal asscher cut sapphire that reminds me of my favorite coastline in the world.

Yes, I finally own my holy grail ring after 20 years: the Tiffany Etoile. But I don't have her in hand yet because of COVID-19. She is with my sister who sent me these pictures. The picture with my finger is from my little Tiffany's booklet, which I acquired before I even got engaged. This was my dream ring.

When DH and I got engaged, we were still in law school, and a Tiffany's e-ring wasn't in our budget. I love my e-ring, but I always intended to buy the Tiffany Etoile ring one day. Flash forward to August 2020, and I find out that the Etoile has been discontinued. I frantically call Tiffany's. They have ONE RING left: a .34 G IF in platinum. I buy her immediately. I am so happy. :D I can't wait to pick her up from my sister.

What a fabulous story! That last Etoile was MEANT for you!

I have my holy grail diamond, but the mounting is still a temp... after 8 years LOL. She will be reset next year for sure and then the whole thing will be perfect to me.

You have everyone’s Holy grail diamond ...lol

Oh how I hope we can come along for the ride!

Not anymore! We’ve bonded over it, actually!!! What have you decided to do about your pears?

Oh man. I dunno. Waiting to hear if @mrs-b relishes the idea of a wild goose chase for the perfect pair of pears! Or maybe selling the whole thing.

This thread of yours has really got me thinking. D4E97A8A-38C8-44B3-A7E7-E6680DA2C094.jpegPart of me thinks I already own my holy grail ring (my wide diamond band) so I’m crazy to keep hunting for a new holy grail- as I’ve already got it! Nothing I buy seems to beat this band for me.

Can I just say what a lovely color-coordinated gorgeous set and pic! I can see why you are confused!

This combo is absolutely gorgeous and I could see making a daily go-to. But totally understand wanting the three stone to work out!!!

My 1.19ct E VS1 that I bought as a 40th birthday present to myself, reset in its forever home 10 years later.

It is sentimental as there is a bitter sweet back story associated with the stone itself.

It makes me feel good whenever I wear it as it was (still is) the most significant jewellery purchase that I funded entirely by myself to date!

Pics of the EC in its new forever home when I picked it up from the local bench that re-set it for me from its original solitaire setting, in a very cold yet bright February morning shortly before my 50th birthday, hence the dry hand!

haha, she could be a bit bigger, like 5ct LOL. But seriously, she's a good wearable size, and I like what I paid. :lol-2:

The Tiffany Etoile collection!! I remember admiring these pieces as well. Congrats on your beautiful timeless ring. :)

Your ring is beautiful – Step cut stones are gorgeous and your diamond is no exception. And I agree, the purchases that we fund for ourselves by ourselves feel the absolute best to wear.

Pretty sure this will be the smallest of diamonds here but this is my HG.

Prior to owning this one I thought that I had found "the one" several times but I could always find something about them I would change. Not this one, I adore everything about her.

She’s beautiful and I can understand why you love her. Bigger isn’t always better in my opinion. I know others don’t necessarily agree with that statement. It’s a good thing they don’t agree, otherwise we would all want exactly the same thing.

I don’t think it’s possible for me to have one holy grail ring. I think I am just not made that way, but a holy grail collection, now that’s another story entirely...

Discontinued!?

Nope. I don’t even know what it is...but I’m having loads of fun trying to figure it out.

To date, I think the closest I’ve come has been with these two paraiba rings.

Can i just say how excited and intrigued I am for some of you PSers who haven’t shared what I would have considered to be your holy grail? Bc now I have some major threads to look forward to!

what!!!! I love your ring! What’s Are you debating?

It just takes me a long time to figure out what I really want. And I struggle with wanting something new after a while, but I'm not ready to let go of the old. I think I may be a serial monogamist...

Oh my WOW! Your opal earrings are jawdropping. So intense, romantic and beautiful! And the cuff is perfection! And wow such beauty in those incredibly gorgeous huge diamond studs! I LOVE! and the vertical drops are dramatic and gorgeous! You are killing it on your earrings girl!

@nala, I am so excited for you!!!! The Emilya is perfect for your stone! Yay for you!!

Working on the HG ring. I love my new stone. I just wish it were 0.2mm larger to fit in my EW setting. First world problem for sure!

You’re better than me. I think I might be a complete floozy/hussy/tart/call me what you will, but it’s hard to commit to just one ring. Variety is the spice of life.
