Do you own your holy grail ring?

Drooling over so many HGs here.

Yes! My 2 cts. asscher is the ring I always wanted. I won’t ever trade it in and don’t want anything bigger. I still love it and it is my favorite piece of jewelry. I don’t wear it that often though because it turns out I don’t like wearing large stones in rings. (PSers wouldn’t even consider that large... Please don’t kick me out!)

But I do have a HG collection wish-list... certain diamond cuts + a few bracelets + a few necklaces + some gemstones... Might achieve it, too, since I like smaller gems.

No, Never will!!

This is an interesting question, and I’ve come to the realization that an HG can’t exist for me. I simply love too many different things. I struggled terribly whilst deciding on my replacement ring when mine went missing. I first wanted an ACA, and then a warm OMC, and I finally landed on a D color antique emerald - a cut I NEVER considered for myself. This ring SHOULD be my HG without a doubt, but I still find myself lusting over stones I see here and on Instagram. I absolutely adore my stunning piece of art, but I don’t think I could ever claim any single piece as my HG!!

Glorious. Stunning. TDF breathtaking! :kiss2:
Asscheraldelicious!

Yes I do! I love my engagement ring as much today as I did 2 years ago.

Of course I will eventually want to go bigger, but nothing will ever replace my ring. She is my HG.:love::love:

Specs (cuz we love our numbers): 2.41ct, J, VVS1 set in a custom RG floral basket which I designed myself and HPD perfected.

I cannot buy a diamond anywhere else. I have been too spoiled by HPD.

No I don't currently.

My HG would be a 10mm E-VS1 CBI with 34.5/40.8 CA/PA (my 2.18 and 2.79 CBIs both have these specs) with a high crown and a 54-55% table.

Not going to happen soon because we are currently building our custom dream home in Scottsdale AZ.

You have the most beautiful collection, @cflutist.

Bumping this thread for updates! SMTB has been on fire recently! Maybe we will have more contributions to this thread!
Me. I should update that my stone is still my holy grail and so is my Emilya even tho is has been temporarily reset into a 3 stone. Here’s a pic in case you missed it! 85AE7096-D082-40D9-BC5F-46DA88B00FE5.jpeg

For the moment, maybe?

I currently have a beautiful 1.51 H VS2 MRB. I always thought I'd upgrade but given my work it's really the largest stone I feel comfortable wearing on a daily basis. A larger stone would be for days off/weekends and given COVID those are usually spent in sweatpants!!!

I finally get to answer this question. I think I do @nala . I wanted to say yes much earlier, but couldn't be sure. For now I do. I would always love a bigger center, but I would not have enough room to fit the large side stones I have, and I'm not sure I can give up the finger coverage for smaller sides now that my eyes are getting accustomed to this look.

I love the new look! I’m curious though, if your stone and Emilya are your HG, why the reset?

Ty! Oh. I posted an update on my original thread. Pandemic stay-at-home not conducive to a high-maintenance setting which I bought preloved. I panicked that a stone would fall out during the daily!

Ah that makes sense! Booo, pandemic. I’ll have to go find the other thread.

I posted here before with my diamond holy grail ring, but I purchased a ring today that's been on my wish list forever, and it's my birthstone/gemstone holy grail ring. I've been looking for an opal ring in platinum to match a pendant/earring set I already own. It needed to have green flashes and almost a jelly opal look to it without actually being a jelly opal. I can't wait to see her in person.

While not extraordinary by any stretch, I do own my HG ring. It's 2.5cts of ACAs in white and rose gold. It is a reset - I changed out the (fairly average) diamonds in my original 3-stone yellow gold e-ring for H&As, and then reset and added in 2 more diamonds years later for our 10th wedding anniversary.

While solitaires are BEAUTIFUL, and I adore and appreciate them on others, it's never a style I have liked on me. I love serious finger coverage, which this ring has in spades! As well as being my favourite style, I love how it has 'evolved'...that it is essentially a replica of my original ring, in my preferred colour gold, with more and higher quality diamonds.

Back when DH and I got engaged when I was 22, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever own something like this. I think the sentiment and feeling of accomplishment in gradually creating this piece, are as Holy Grail-ish as the ring itself. My heart still flutters every time I put it on.

Probably like a lot of people here, if money and responsibilities were not issues, I can think of a pretty awesome holy grail collection:lol: I don't have a HG stone, but this diamond cluster ring project I'm working on now might by my HG setting.

I can't ever trade in my er so I will never have an ORTRTA. BUT I would like to get a nice anniversary OEC :D. So, long story short, I will probably never have a holy grail ring.

I was thinking of buying my holy grail diamond ring. Did the money thing and decided it was doable. Then -and I think Covid plays a part here, I asked myself "do you actually wear the diamond rings you have?" And I don't. It is just too hard for me to wear diamonds when I wash my hands so often and apply moisturizer to prevent my hands from cracking and bleeding. Maybe next year if it is still available.

I honestly don't even know what my HG would be. But I am plenty happy with my OEC 3-stone!

Thread: My dreamy E color OEC three-stone!

What I really want is a moderately sized collection, maybe 5-6 really nice, pretty rings and a bunch of stacking bands.

I think if I were to make room for another diamond ring in my collection, it would be a chubby antique pear or an antique asscher. But that is a long ways away!

WOW!!! And yet I can 100% relate to what you are saying. There are so many things to love!! When it comes to jewels I’m not monogamous hahaha.

Yes!

It's frivolous, over the top and I probably paid way more than I should but I've never seen another one like it and will never love another ring the way I love it.

It's my "If I could have anything I want and don't need to be sensible" ring

Holy WOW!! That is a true stunner...it has to have a story behind it. Is there a thread? I have so many questions...

Other than my engagement ring, I consider my 5 stone ring my Holly Grail. It's my all time favorite, and one of the few pieces I saved when we had to evacuate due to the fire last year in CA.

Beautiful 5 stone, the sparkle is amazing! You lost your home and jewelry in the fires? I can't imagine going through something like that! I am so sorry! Did you lose a lot of jewelry? :(

Yes I do! I love my engagement ring as much today as I did 2 years ago.

Whom ever owns it now is a lucky lucky girl!
thanks for the extra pictures and videos
Le sigh. . . .
:kiss2:

I recognized it immediately and remembered the price because I also coveted the ring and highly considered getting it when Grace released it from her personal collection. At the time, I thought it looked too big on my fingers, but I now wonder if I could have pulled it off...

sure

I love the history (and beauty) of your ring.

I do now. :)8D3E21D5-13DA-4653-987E-7C1851F88613.jpeg
I have always wanted a three stone. Even many years back I thought 3 one carats would be the bomb. Little could I imagine having this iteration. I don’t think about other stones or e-rings anymore. Or switching or exchanging stones or settings. It’s definitely ring-peace.

Both of your rings - the VC oec and this three stone - are what ring aspirations are made of!
