YES, I am a comfort snob and I will absolutely NOT repent!!!!

I spend many a minute admiring my rings (and many times in situations probably not meant for ring admiring, meetings, church ceremonies, umm...!) so I am sure they enjoy the respite from my greedy eyes at times.

I take my engagement ring off to shower and to work out, and that''s about it. I put it back on right after I get out of the shower. If I don''t put it back on right away, my hand feels weird, and I start to worry about where it is, even though I know I left it on the bathroom counter.

I have a tiny pendant on a light chain that I leave on all the time, and a tiny pair of diamond studs that I take out for cleaning about once a week or so.

I also have a cape cod bracelet that''s literally not left my wrist in a year. Unfortunately, its days are numbered and fiance will have to remove it this weekend, cause it''s stuck on and I won''t be able to wear it at my new job.

If jewelery isn''t comfortable enough to wear all the time, I just don''t wear it. I don''t have the time or energy to be putting stuff on and taking it off every day!

I haven''t a chance to wear my ering to bed! It''s getting resized. However I''ll probably take it off because I think the cat would have a go at it if he could get the opportunity. Anything shiny attracts his attension...like owner like pet!

For necklaces, I wear them if I forget to take them off except for the failing diamond jewelry I have. I always take it off before I go to bed. If I''m wearing something like my dove, cross or heart necklace, chances are I''ll wear that for DAYS. I''ll look in the mirror and see that I''m wearing it.

I also have a 3mm? engraved white gold band that was a gift from the fiancé back when we first starting dating. Its so small & simple that I wear it around the house, sometimes I forget to take it off before bedtime. The other ring-gifts are bulkier and therefore I take them off as soon as I get home.

I dont have piereced ears...I have attached earlobes and am not quite sure how''d they would look pierced because they''re so small.

I take off my rings as soon as i get home from work. I''ve tried to wear them to sleep, but my hands swell up when i sleep and its uncomfortable. I do wear my WF martini studs 24/7 though.

I''m sorry to hear about your necklace, Beacon

. I was wearing my ring on a chain at work, but decided against it because I was afraid the chain would break and my ring would be lost forever
32.gif
. Hopefully your necklace will turn up!

Necklace found! Where: washing machine.

Looks like I put in the pocket of my PJs and it made it into the wash. No harm done; it sure looks clean

Shows that if you take your stuff of to go to sleep you better be careful about where you put it!

Ack! Because of this thread I tried to take my rings off before bed last night, and of course, this morning I forgot to put them back on, so now I have this lovely dent on my left hand, and not my Asscher.

Beacon, that is wonderful!!! Bonus too that it is really clean

I leave my rings on 24-7. I only take them off to clean and even then, I watch them in the ultrasonic

. I''m in dental school so I''m sure you guys can imagine how much I work with my hands and I still refuse to take them off. I sleep with all my jewlery on... I have a set of studs and a sapp/diamond pendant that I wear every day. I just like the feeling of my rings on! They don''t bother me at all.

JHK lover...Good girl. You and me are two peas in pod. We are the true jewelry lovers here. The others...well, it seems they can''t be bothered with such trivial inconveniences.

Have you seen some of their inconveniences? Oh well, can''t save the world.

I read on a jewlery site that gold rings should never be slept in. Fabic is abrasive and will wear away the gold. I guess platinum would not do that, but you still have the potential to catch prongs or whack the ring against the headboard or worse, your hubby! So I think the true jewelry lovers who want to keep their jewelry in the very best condition will always carefully remove their jewelry right before going to bed!
2.gif
I look at them one last time in the mirror and put them in their safe place until after my shower the next morning!

Oh DS...I am just poking fun at you and the rest of the PSers!!! We all love them...I still say I love them more...as I never want to part from mine.

My dear cousin leaves in outside of Memphis. She also removed all of her treasures before bedtime...one night last year she and hubby awoke to a train...it was all they could do to get to the basement...no electricity to guide them in the dark...once the train (Tornado) has passed...there was nothing left above ground. They had each other(thankfully) ...and the jammies they were wearing.

Yes she has insurance...but her stone was given to her by her inlaws who happen to be a generation removed from geniune Russian Royalty. The stone was rich in history. Non replaceable. Gone. She never removes her new one!

If sleeping in a bed can hurt gold...I think it may not be worth wearing! I think they may also suggest we not wear clothing while wearing it...clothing is also made of fabric. If your prongs snag it is a sign they need attention. Best to find out at home...than after loosing a stone.

Hey DS....Are you the same one who mentioned "wacking the headboard" before? May I suggest you invest in a padded one? Or maybe a round bed placed in the center of the room? And you may also consider armour and maybe a helmet for your hubby...you sound really dangereous!

I AM JUST KIDDING YOU>>>>>My intention was to make you laugh...it is yours to wear or remove or store...so you do what is best for you!!

DKS

DKS, I think that was Ellen who whacked the headboard. Look at page 1.

Well Skippy....I am really concerned with the sleeping habits of PSers. Whacking anything while you sleep just can''t be healthy. Now two members are casually mentioning their wacking aversions. They say we need at least 6 hours of uninterupted sleep...with all that whacking going on...no wonder people are so cranky, they are not fully rested.

Do you practice wacking?

Hehehe. No, not usually. I just tend to walk into walls

Some of us are just... more enthusiastic when we sleep...

I can't wear my rings to bed, they drive me crazy. Once I wore them to bed and found them in the morning off and in the sheets.

what we do have is a ceramic hand in the kitchen (not over the sink, over the cutting board where I make lunch) so we see them in the morning and put our rings on (my wife also takes hers off, though less adamantly).

holy crap the picture is huge, how do I detach the picture and upload the smaller version!?!

WOW...first sight of that thing was creepy.

Glad you said IT was ceramic...because I thought you we anemic...you need iron bud! You skin is so...creamy white...just like porcelin!

Do you call it, (The HAND that is)...Uncle It?

DKS

LOL, DKS, you are too funny

OH dear...was the hand COUSIN IT? Not uncle. Anyone remember?

DKS

I think the hand was "Thing". Cousin it was they really long haired looking fella.

You KNOW, DKS...SOME of us are secure enough in our relationship with our precioussss'ssss that we can allow them to sleep in their own beds at night...

Perhaps you suffer from a fear of separation anxiety

and are in need of jewelry counseling? I do hope you seek help soon.
