Do you think jewelry is a necessary item of fashion?

Guys, do you think a fashionable person cannot be seperated from jewelry such as diamond, emerald?

No I don't think it's a necessary item of fashion. It's a nice to have. Incorrect or inappropriate jewellery can ruin an outfit and/or make it look cheap.

Jewellery is a personal issue and is as personal as the clothes we wear. It's no more necessary than a scarf or hat or socks!

Completely agree. What a fashionista really needs is a good attitude and the confidence to know she/he looks good no matter the jewelry or cost or name brand of the outfit. It's all about confidence and attitude IMO.

Yep, in some degree it is indispensable when clothes or some other elements is contained, while we can have other chooses to keep pace with fashion, jewelry alone will not be the main role for fashion.

For me it is. Even if I'm slopping around in jeans & sweater I feel naked without earrings & my watch, which is a fashion statement in itself.



Maybe not for everyone, but the right jewelry, whether real or costume, can turn an okay outfit into a more chic look.

Laurie, I need to say again how I love that watch. So wonderfully feminine!

I think jewelry is a key part if fashion - fashion, as opposed to attire. No, it won't keep us warm, but in terms of presenting an image to the world? A great rope of pearls communicates your attitude better than any number of Chanel garments, I think.

Despite my hanging around here as of late (since I'm new ^_~), the only jewelery I wear on a regular basis is a bracelet and a sterling silver ring. So ordinarily, it is not important to me. That said, it is more or less indispensable to me in a more formal setting (ie. weddings). But then after that's that, I put the jewelery back in the box for the next function. So to me...nah, its not necessary. I like it, but I don't neeeeed to have it

Not necessary but it can enhance the overall "finish" of one's appearance, depending on the clothes worn and the design of the jewellery.
