Does anyone wear just one ring?

Ok @YadaYadaYada I totally misread the question. You didn’t mean only one ring period—you meant one ring on left hand? Like no stacking your ering?
so I’m gonna modify my answer. I actually started a thread on this not too long ago. I have to say that I have a mental desire to always stack my ering even tho I long to not stack it! Don’t ask me why. I own a good 40 plus stackers. Yes. Shameful. I’m addicted to stackers. The thing Is—they don’t always look cohesive when I stack them. Which is ok until the novelty wears off and then I want cohesiveness. I envy my dear sister who just got her ering upgraded and the idea of stacking does not even cross her mind! I think her one ring just looks like a clean look! Nothing to distract your eye from the one ring. Sigh. I try. And I want to. Only wear one ring. Lol

We're all different though, Nala. What looks good on your sister might not look good on you, and vice versa. She wears one ring but might actually envy your ability to stack like a boss!

Care to share a pic of her upgraded single ring, whilst we're on the subject?

Ok. Here are terrible pics of both of our rings—due to lighting. But they are the only ones that I have. Hers is an ACA 1.94 i vs2 on dining g setting.

I really prefer the look of my e-ring by itself. But I put the wedding band on after it anyway, for added security. That way if anything slips off my finger, it will be the plain wedding band first, not the diamond ring.

Both rings are gorgeous! Thanks for posting them!

@nala, one ring on the wedding ring finger as opposed to an engagement ring and wedding band or engagement ring and stack of bands. Sorry that was a bit ambiguous. I was really just curious, love seeing everyone’s stacks but it made me wonder if there was anyone who prefers a single ring on that finger.

@seaurchin, I never thought of a band as added security but that’s a great point, bands are generally much easier to replace than our diamond rings.

One ring per hand here! I was married with the eternity ring (an elopement) and the solitaire is a 40th birthday present to myself with a diamond I found in a pawn shop! A0D2B496-F22A-4BAC-8FC5-6B031F6594B3.jpeg

Wow, @RosieR !!! So elegant!!! All of your pieces, and your beautiful hands!

It’s from good old ID Jewelry! 5.6+ carats of F/G colour SI eye clean (pricescope quality) stones set in 14k white gold in a Benjamin co. Setting, which was customised to 6.5 inches long. I copied LLJ’s mom as she has the same setting. I adore it and it goes well with the eternity that ID jewellery also made.

Gorgeous! Is it 3 prong or 4? Sorry waiting for my new glasses, ha ha!!!

When I first read your reply I kinda wish I'd thought of taping mine, but I'm glad I didn't. Something really nice came out of doing like we did. I'll give the backstory, so it makes more sense. My husband married his first wife when they were young, too young by his words. He realized early on he'd made the wrong choice. They got along OK, but she didn't really love him, she rejected the love he had to give. But their first child was on the way, he wasn't going to leave. He took his vows very seriously, he stayed even though she cheated on him twice that he knows of. Both of their kids have told me he treated her better than she deserved, that he should have left her. After the youngest child was grown and moved out, he started to think he could leave. But she got sick, it turned out to be cancer. So he stayed, and took care of her until she died. After she was gone he promised himself he wouldn't remarry unless he found someone who REALLY loves him. I definitely fit that!

So..... After we got done with the light fixtures, and cleaned up, he walked up to me with both our rings in his hand. He held out his hand, expecting me to take mine and put it back on, he'd put his on. Instead, I picked up his, took his left hand, and put his ring on while reciting a shortened version of the vow I took with him. He smiled and did the same with my ring. Then he put his arms around me, held me tight for a few seconds. Then he said "You know, that's the first time I've had that done for me. Thank you". Just a beautiful moment.

Sad tale with a happy ending because he's living his happily ever after with you now

Thanks Alex T and MillieLou! It’s a no-frills setting in 18k, I think from Stuller. Size 6. My daughter likes to model it ;-).

The diamond is an H VS1, just over a carat but spready. Love seeing everyone’s rings here!

It's a gorgeous & really well proportioned classic. And your daughter wears it well! :kiss2:

I wear Bella with a 2mm plain plat band on over, but tucked under so it’s barely visible. I don’t have the finger real estate for stacking, and this way I know Bella can’t fall off.

7B177664-5FA0-49BA-9ABC-F601CBBABD13.jpegI almost always wear my engagement ring stacked with these two bands. At first I did not want a gap, but now I am very happy with the balance they all have together. If we are doing something active, camping or at the beach I will only wear a 2 mm platinum band that has 5 small channel set baguettes.

@Pinkmartini87, I love the band with your beautiful sapphire ring but I also like the sapphire solo so you can really go either way IMO.

@poppyinni love that pretty pink, a great pop of color.

@Daisy_Margaret, beautiful ring, my original engagement ring was in 18k yellow, there is something so classic about diamonds in yellow gold.

@Austina, Bella is so beautiful:kiss2:

@lookingforsparkle, I have the same problem, if I stack two rings in the morning they may be too snug by the afternoon, another reason I just wear the one alone for the most part.

@711heather, your stack is gorgeous, love the bands with your solitaire!

For the past 3-4 months I have been wearing only my tiffany knife edge wedding band, which is very unusual for me. I think because I got nervous wearing my lab diamond full eternity with all of the hand washing from COVID. It's rare that I only wear a band but it's worked for me with the current circumstances.

I wear ering and wedding band on left an a fun rhr with no band. Cannot stand wearing a band on my rh lol!

I have an OEC set in a halo and I usually wear it with no band. the halo has a wide base and a band just looks like too much on my finger. I have an OEC solitaire and I wear a band with it, I think the ring looks kind of plain without it.

Wow! This is a fabulous combination!

I need a RHR!

You do! Give us your budget and we will happily help you find the right hand ring of your dreams. And before you ask, no, we have no extra funds to buy it for you. But we have lots of energy to help you search.

Junie, I agree completely. I used to feel obligated to wear Bubbalah with a band and now I have been wearing her without a band (fingers swelling was the initial reason) and I find I love and prefer wearing her without a wedding band. I agree the halo makes the band superfluous whereas a solitaire and a band complement each other so well.

Of course both/either work and it is an individual preference. No right or wrong. But yes. This is how I have been enjoying wearing my halo OEC too. Alone but not alone haha.

Please excuse my huge (and ugly) hands and fingers. :oops:Fingers swollen from hiking but that just makes Bubbbalah more secure. She's not falling off my fingers even without a wedding band.

@missy Bubbalah definitely needs no embellishment. She’s perf all by herself! I love her!! Gorgeous!

@lovedogs, can totally relate as I haven’t been wearing an eternity band much either this year, only sporadically. Hey, one less ring to clean!

@bling_dream19, you know I’m never think to stack rings on my right hand, only the left really. Like you I think of the right hand as a stand alone ring hand.

@junebug17, I definitely think halos create enough visual impact that a band becomes less important.

So i thought id wear my old silver signet ring all the time
its felt good on my finger for almost two weeks but i woke all hot - the sun streams in my bedroom window before 6am at the moment
Anyway my ring was digging in and hard to get off
I left it off all day.
The skin under it was an already a diffetent paler colour
That night i made appleslaw which required lemon juice
holy cow !
My poor finger
It was burning/stinging
now i have a nice red angry looking band of skin on my finger
Ouch
