Dream Wedding Shoe?

Good topic of a post for me, since I CAN''T seem to find the ones I want anywhere in the world!!

I want: open, strappy silver sandals. They HAVE TO be real leather, the HAVE TO have one, single, skinny, strap across the toes (no sequins, no rhinestones, no bows, no multiple straps). The MUST have a flat, flat sole (as in, NO platforms, whatsoever. Not even the tiniest 1/4" of platform)

The MUST have an ankle-strap. A skinny, unadorned one (again, no rhnestones, no bows, no decorations) and the buckle has to be plain, too. Plus, the heel CAN''T be shorter than 3.5." I like super-high heels (but not platforms). Stilettos, I guess those are? When there''s no platform?

Ideally, they''d be strappy and bare where my achilles tendon is, the back of my ankle? I''d like to have the skinny strap criss-cross back there, as opposed to havng a solid pice of leather that the ankle-strap loops through.

I just re-read this little novel. DAYYYYUM, I''m picky. No wonder I haven''t found the shoes.

I have a hard time with bridal shoes, because I personally don''t like fabric shoes, and I *really* dislike satin as a fabric. It''s just not my taste. Even my wedding dress doesn''t have a single thread of satin anywhere on it.

I think I''d be able to compromise a *smidge* on the "no decorations" rule and the "more than one strap over the toes" rule...and if I''m really forced, could deal with the "material at the back of my ankle" but everything else is non-negotiable.

I''m a dork

I''m probably going to end up going with some type of ballet slipper because I''m about an inch/half an inch taller than my bf. I know its something weird to be obsessing about but I feel weird when I have heeled shoes on around him lol. Usually when I don''t have shoes on and he does, he''s a tiny bit taller than me. Problem is my feet are a size 10 and shoes just don''t look as cute in bigger sizes!!! I hate that

I''m in your boat, aggal. Size 10 shoes just are NOT as cute.

Fortunately the size 10 shoes go with 5''10" me, and long legs are always a wonderful accessory.

Don''t diss the boots!! I had a victorian style wedding and wore ankle boots with my gown. They were ivory satin with the lace appliques'' on the side., tiny rosettes with small loops of pearl on the toes ,and satin ribbon closures. Everyone loved them--and so did I. I must say that my bridal shop owner was highly skilled and took a plain pair of boots and turned them into something just perfect

Dangit! There''s always someone.

Sorry Marian, yours sound cute though! And totally fitting for your theme. These...I just don''t know where they would fit.

oh my god elledizzy.. those are gorgeous!!

These blue-soled Louboutins are pretty cool (but sadly, will remain a dream forever as they are no longer made and near impossible to get ahold of!)

I also saw a killer pair of pale pink Manolo pumps that would be perfect for the job. Can''t find a pic right now, though I did turn up a killer pair of sky high sparkly pink Manolos. Probably not so wedding appropriate, but they are hot!

SO''s friend''s wife wore red heels under her wedding dress at their wedding this July. It was a long, Grecian inspired dress so you didn''t really see the shoes unless she was sitting down. Kind of a neat pop of colour.

Ugh, gosh, I know! Thank YOU Stuart Weitzman, for making gorgeous shoes that I can''t afford over, and over, and over again.

elle--those and the non-slingbacks are my backup if I can''t get the ones I posted on the first page. Then I will get them dyed bright blue and put the crystals on myself. This is all for the wedding.

Favorite color is blue, can''t help it. I love love love those "Hotspots" on the first page, but what I wouldn''t give to have the shoe color be blue instead of gold...

I have the non-slingback version of these shoes in patent leather, and let me just say that they are AMAZING!!!! Really, really, really fantastic. Photos do them no justice.

I may have a new one...and I can still buy this one...

I am very much digging those, Freke! Good choice!

elle --

i love the shoes you posted!! those might require a LOT of pre-wedding practice though, as i do not want to trip down the aisle...

So I asked my mom if she''d buy those for me today ($270) and she thought about it and finally rejected the idea after about 15 minutes of not very hard begging from me. She said I need to have a ring on my finger before I''m getting any shoes out of her.

Blast.

Anyone got any good bargaining/negotiating/begging tips for me?

Sounds like it's not an impossibility.

Tell her FF is worried about you not getting the shoes you want for your wedding, and that he'd feel better about proposing if the shoes were already lined up....?

Are you her ONLY daughter? You could work that angle. (Wny does "angle" always look wrong when I spell it?)

I'm thinking of more...

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! She''d laugh hysterically if I told her that first one.

I am her only daughter, actually her only child...I should definitely use that to my advantage

.

Angle is a weird looking word isn''t it?

Thanks elle! Let me know if you think of anything else!

Hey Freke, if you''re bored, you wanna find me some red flats or slight heels for a "save for later" folder?
