Introducing my OEC five stone ring celebrating the 20th anniversary of meeting my true love.

It holds 2.65cttw of old European cuts, graded K-L color and VS2-SI2 by GIA. I found them all on eBay at pawn/scrap sellers and it took me about 8 months to source them.

The setting was made by David Klass Jewelers in platinum and 18k antique gold. It is based on a design I adapted from a ring they had made a few years ago, reflecting a classic Edwardian fleur de lis gallery motif. It is size 10.5.

I adore it, it is everything I hoped it would be.

If you would like to read the 12 PAGE (lol) thread detailing the creation of this ring, it’s here:

A box…

Another box…

A baggie, for a different delivery service, just for variety I assume…

Some nice gifts. The GIA reports for the three diamonds that did not have them when I bought them. And they kindly included everything I sent along with the diamonds including the little pieces of paper towel I wrapped the diamonds in lol Waste not want not!

Oh, and a lovely little jewelry sack…

A sweet little bag…

A beautiful present…

Untie the bow…

All untied…

Peekaboo…

The gallery view is just :kiss2: It is so airy and delicate. In person it doesn’t even look real. It is perfect.

IMG_4657.jpeg

The stance of the ring is about 4.6mm. It is high enough to have presence but still feels very low for comfort.
IMG_4660.jpeg

The tab and v-tip prongs are smooth like butter. So incredibly comfortable to wear! I can’t even feel it. It’s just what I was hoping for and having this comfort with such high design aesthetic feels like having my cake and eating it too.
IMG_4674.jpeg

My husband likes the split tab prongs. He said it looks like fingers holding a baseball :lol-2: I think they look like graspy little gollum fingers. Which of course is a good thing.

In person of course you can barely see them.

What I am totally amazed by is how nearly identical the diamonds look now that they are set. I thought it would work but I was absolutely nervous because loose their differences in size and shape are so obvious. But set they all look just round and perfect. I could not tell them apart except that I decided on the setting order. And two with smaller cutlets are on one side and two with larger on the other. But look at how uniform they are! It’s wild.

Just for fun here she is with my 1.89ct early ideal cut, also KL color and SI clarity. Set with two .30ct modern ideal cuts in a platinum and 18k gold hand engraved setting by Caysie van Bebber Design.

I won’t ever wear them like this but it’s fun anyway.

You can see the different tone of the golds here. I like them both but the antique is my favourite. I need a matching wedding band.

IMG_4662.jpeg

Like look how round and perfect they all look! So happy with how it came together.

The pic really shows the faceting differences among the three cuts.

Most importantly: HAPPY 20th you two love birds!

Secondly: I LOVED the unboxing!

Ok…..

I die.

That setting is perfection. I love how this ring would never have existed if it wasn’t for you finding all the stones separately… it makes it incredibly special and all yours :kiss2:

David did a beautiful job on the setting, its profile reminds me of The Halls of Moria and the split prongs are Gollums fingers holding “my precious”

If you don’t have a name yet, my vote is Moria!

Happy 20 years to you! In my mind you were still collecting stones, so when this thread popped up, I was like….. :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

Oh my god. Firstly happy anniversary before I forget! But seriously this has got to be the most anticipated search/project that I've followed and the unboxing, loved it! Thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I love the gallery so much that I've screenshot it for future reference! What an incredible ring and your patience that went into finding the stones themselves. Have fun celebrating and please take a million more photos!

It really did turn out very well. The diamonds look uniform and like they were chosen to be put together - which they were! Congrats on your special ring and wear it in health and happiness always! Thanks for allowing us to be part of the journey!

Yay, Ive been following this journey and am so happy with the outcome!!

Amazing! I knew it was going to be fabulous but it is really perfect! I love the gallery/baskets. The prongs are perfect- I see both the baseball hand and gollum’s precious seeking gimme hands- and I love it. Your expertise and thoughtfulness shine through in this ring!
Congratulations on 20 years, what an amazing accomplishment!

Exquisite! I love how you hunted your OECs down and then showcased them in this beautiful ring. Happy anniversary too!

It's gorgeous @Dreamer_D!! The gallery is amazing, just perfect. The diamonds look fantastic together and the ring looks beautiful on you. I've been quietly following along and I'm very happy for you! Happy Anniversary!

Gosh that is pretty. So feminine!
And the two-tone really accentuates it.
Nice job!

That is beautiful, Dreamer!!! And it is perfect to commemorate 20 years! I had VC make me a 5 stone band a couple of years ago (just a modern, classic style) and I wear it more than any other ring!

Congrats! Love the v-tip prongs!

It’s so beautiful! Happy Anniversary! It’s truly sublime!

So beautiful! I love the story of how you acquired your stones and your thoughtfulness in the design process to get it perfect. Those semi bezels on the end hug the stones perfectly and the tiny tab prongs complement it perfectly. Well done! Happy Anniversary!

I am kind of sad its done!! I have been following the whole time and I just LOVE how it came out!! The ring truly reflects 20 years.... just like a relationship, time, patience, a lot of love and creativity!! Congratulations! :kiss2:

For the record, I absolutely LOVE the two rings together!!!!!!! But you know I am ostentatious so there's that.....

Such a perfect architectural reference! With his design I really wanted to capture an architectural vibe, with the whole gallery made of a single metal — rather than like my three stone where the bridge is yg and only the prongs were plat— I think it evokes a bridge. But I totally see the reference in Moria as well! We were just rewatching LOTR last night. I love/hate that whole scene.

Moria is a beautiful name! I don’t tend to name my rings, I am more drawn to naming my diamonds… funny.

Loved the “ tease” photos ! Your ring is beyond gorgeous! Wishing you many years of blingy enjoyment and a very Happy 20th Anniversary !

Oh wow so nice they did a great job on the setting! Congrats and enjoy! I bet it would be pretty paired with that awesome vintage band you have!
