Like the others I think this dress is drop dead GORGEOUS on you! Very classy! I think what you are seeing is the fact of the angle your friend took the pictures from, it may shorten your waist a tiny bit and emphasize the voila of the full skirt. This may in turn make it look a little out of proportion to you from looking at it in the mirror head on etc. Hope that helps a little. I also think if you wear a sparkly necklace with it, it will lengthen your torso.

I was really hoping that was the case, thanks for setting my mind at ease sparkles! I''m planning on wearing a medium strand of peals my grandfather gave me, with pearl/diamond drop earrings, do you think that will do enough to draw the eye?

Thanks again for the reassurance

Your jewelry sounds gorgeous! And yes, absolutely! I think pears would be amazing because they again emphasize a small to large image (think waist to fullness of your skirt) and it repeats a pattern. Oh now I want pictures of those! Are there any?

Thanks so much for reassuring me everyone!

Katy - yes it does make it all the more real to have the dress in the final stage, but I have to say scheduling the final walk through of the space with the event coordinator, caterer, and florist - less than a month from now! - was a bigger kick

Sorry posted too soon....

Kama & Lala - thanks for the idea of putting more netting under the top! I''m making my crinoline this weekend (what I''m wearing for the fitting is a crude mock-up) so I will definitely take that into account when I cut the net.

Lala - I tried on many corsets in the first stages of the dress fitting and felt they simply created too many layers for july. There is boning in the dress which is what makes it fit so nicely...I guess I just don''t want it bad enough, I''m happy with it the way it is....what a wonderful realization you brought me to, thanks!

Sparkles - I do not have a pic of the jewelry, but I might do a full trial this weekend, if so I will take pics and post them for ya''ll. I know I love seeing others dress/trial pictures too

I love your dress! It does evoke that 50s charm and you sure have tiny waist! It'' looks great on you. I think it''s reflecting it differently as the top is compact while the bottom are layers and fluffy (if it make sense) and I ADORE the fluffy part of your dress!

I am wondering if widening the sweetheart neckline would give you a more V-shape and gives the illusion of smaller waist? I may be totally wrong though.

As it is, you already look gorgeous in it!

I am 99.9% sure the bluish tint to the skirt is the lighting. I bet there was a window that had the sun shining through onto the skirt and then didn''t hit the top. If you had pictures in uniform lighting, it would look exactly the same.

I think it looks great on you!

Freke - Good to know you think it is the lighting. I am going back early next week to re-look at these issues - I will make sure to take it outside and look at it in completly even natural light.

Classic, timeless, one-of-a-kind, STUNNING! Your dress has it all! GORGEOUS!

You are so beautiful in your dress! Your waist looks super tiny, so don''t worry one bit. You nailed the look you were going for.

I don''t notice a blue tinge to your gown, but if you still notice it when you go back, maybe an additional white liner to the gown might help?
