LC, Please do not put Maddie down. Please believe me when I say, she will recover. You will be so surprised just how fast our beloved pets recover.
I was so surprised at our fast our Lhasa Mazie recovered. In just 2 weeks she acted like nothing ever happened to her. I know Maddie will do the same thing. I know this is very hard on you and your husband right now and she does face more surgeries.
You stated she is as perky as she always is. You can bet she will be that way after her following surgeries. She loves you and we know you both love her. Please let her live. Please do not put her down, just because she faces more surgeries. She WILL survive them believe me.

Also it sounds as if she is doing well, time is a great physical healer so hang in there with her, every day healing is taking place on the inside also even if you can't see it! No need to consider putting her down IMO, it sounds as if she has an excellent chance of making a great recovery, and to have a wonderful quality of life as she used to.
she''s a fast healer!!!!!!Date: 12/3/2008 5:57:23 PM

Well, I got her picture from day 13 taken, and WOW. What a difference! It''s still gross, but I cannot believe how much better it looks!
We took a walk today, and she enjoyed every minute of it. Also, the only thing that made me cry today was when the neighborhood children brought Maddie a get well card with a few coins they collected for her medical bills. They call their club the ''what if'' club. Maddie always growls and barks at them when they''re playing outside, but they still brought her a card. Awwwww!

Day 16...
Just a quick update on Maddie...
She continues to amaze me with her recovery. She is getting more and more like herself everyday. Unfortunately, that includes growling at me when I make her get out of bed in the morning, but that''s my girl! Also, she''s becoming more and more frisky, which means she''s gotten her wound to bleeding a couple of times. The doc says that''s okay -- better for it to bleed than no blood supply at all.
Mommy is doing better, too. My mind has cleared up, and I''ve been able to think about things in a different light. I have a list of questions to ask the vet when she goes in for a check up on Monday afternoon.
Again, I cannot thank you all for your prayers, dust, and encouraging words over the past week.
