OMG! The first word that popped into my head was "Regal". You look amazing, like you should be marrying a King or something. It''s such a beautiful dress, and the red really pops on you! Good luck keeping this a secret, but it''ll be SO worth it if you do!

Reds come is soooo many different flavors - I think that''s the perfect shade for you. I can just imagine being at your wedding, like Blueroses said earlier, the doors open, and there is a barely audible gasp. FAN-TASTIC!!!

I''m not sure how I feel about the veil, though. The dress is soooo striking by itself.

On the hanger and in detail.

WOW!!!!!!!!! You look amazing!!

That dress is absolutely perfect for you! Congrats!!!

That dress is amazing. It makes me question getting the davids dress with just red accents, the red dress just looks divine!

OMG!! What a gorgeous gown! Its so so so so so so so so pretty. Just amazing! YOu look GREAT!

now that I''ve caught my breath, I can tell you that you look fantastic!!! Love it, love it

WOW!!!!

i knew it would look spectacular, but it is even more so in real life!!! and i agree a 100% w/ JCJD...its so regal!!!

u must be so excited! truly amazing =)

It''s so pretty and the colour really compliments you skin colour...red is such a brave colour - it speaks confidence - you look beautiful!

you look beautiful!! absolutely regal as someone said! I love red! It''s a good luck color on weddings in my culture, so red will be all over my wedding also. I can already picture the collective gasp as you make your entrance, looking like a medieval princess!!

Yes, my coloring was why I got a red dress. The shock value is just an added bonus

. I sickly in too much white, ivory isn''t any better. The deeper ivory-yellowy shades make me look jaundiced, and the pretty pale pinks make me look all pink! But red makes me look healthy - without having to spend the next 7 months tanning! You''d think as pale as I am I would just burn up in the sun, but it takes about 4 hours of direct sunlight to give me a burn that''s still there the next day. Unfortunately, I have to be out in it a lot in order to build up a tan either (my mom says I had one when I was little and playing outside all the time).

Now I just need hair, make-up, accessories, and flowers. I want my in an updo, otherwise I dont think it would last through the photoshoot to the ceremony (there''s a good chance that early June in Louisville will be 80 degrees, breezy, and very humid). I''m having my make-up professionally done because I basically never wear it myself. Please feel free to make suggestions of what you think would look good (I''m not wearing any in that photo). I do really want a veil, and I think I''m going for cathedral length and attached at the back like the photo above. It will be made out of a silver fabric though, and be removed after the ceremony. I''d like to find some sort of comb or tiara for my head too, but I''m going to wait until after I know more about what I want done with my hair (I''ve never had it put up in a fancy updo before!) I want some nice drop earings, but I probably won''t bother with a necklace unless I can find an heirloom piece I like in someone''s jewelry box. I want some nice beaded super-comfy shoes - ballet slippers, moccasins, clogs? A little height would be nice, but I don''t want to be standing on high heels from 3-10:30pm! As for flowers, I think I''m going for white and purple iris. Please feel free to give me suggestions on any and all of these, I''m not usually a fancy dress up kind of gal!

A veil that isn''t stark white will compliment the dress nicely. I was thinking pink/champagne actually, but silver would match the beading and embroidery better.

I don''t know about the purple flowers. Might compete/clash with your dress... What about all white irises for you? It would be very striking. What other colors are you thinking for the BM dresses? With you in a red gown, I''m thinking silver or black for the other colors, something very glam. Maybe white irises for everyone wrapped in silver ribbon... or you could go with the classic red and white roses.

For shoes, if you can find some cute kitten heels I''d go for those. If not, ballet slippers would be nice.

I missed the dress pictures until now, but i LOVE it!! you are definitely going to make an impression.. i love the red on you! I''m not sure how I feel about the veil... are you really set on wearing one?

I love it--you''re going to start a new trend! Why the heck are WHITE dresses the "thing" for weddings?? This looks so gorgeous!!!

I love the veil with it, even the white one looks good you show in the picture but I think silver would look even better.

Not sure about mixing in another strong color with your red dress...I think all white flowers for you would be a nice balance.

Hey--your BMs could get white dresses!

I''d stick with subtle jewelry since you have a gorgeous broach at your bosom--like drop earings but no necklace, or small earrings and a thin necklace.

Yay! Thanks for sharing!

wowzas!!! you look fantastic!! that shade of red looks SO great on your fair skin!!!

With a dress like that you can do a pretty dramatic look, I think, with darker makeup and some fancy accessories... what fun!!! I bet if you look at the sales after winter you can find some great shoes on discount to match...

I will probably do all white in my bouquet, a mostly white mix of purple/white for the MOH, and a mostly purple mix of purple/white for the rest of the girls. The girls are all in black dresses, and the men will have black tuxes with silver vests. There are three women and one man on my side, three men and one woman on the groom''s side. The groom''s gal is going to be in a different black dress because the one my girls are in doesn''t fit her very well (''poor thing'' has the body of a swimsuit model with a DD rack - why did his best friend from high school have to be such a knockout?). There are also 4 male ushers, then our parents, and 2 or 3 grandmothers. What do you think for the boutonnieres? White or purple? I''ll have both on the corsages.

I say white bout for you FI, then purple for the others. so that he matches your flowers. and the GM match the girls.

Wow, you look amazing! I just adore that red dress on you! I literally gasped when I saw the picture--so regal & beautiful!

I think the white bouquet will be lovely w/ it. You must be so excited to wear this stunning gown!

HOLY MOLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gasp indeed! It looks like you are going to be not just married but coronated! LOVE IT! It is just STUNNING!!!

I resized the detail photos so they aren''t so gigantic! If you refresh the page or clear your cache it should be a little more managable now.

I have to be honest and say when I first read that you wanted a red dress I wasn''t sure (Im pretty old fashioned in a way) but then I saw your pictures and WOW! You look stunning and that dress is so perfect on you!!!! That is so beautiful and I think everyone will love it!!!!

I cannot wait to the how you are going to put the BM dresses!!

My bridesmaids are wearing the black dress from the end of my first post:

The men are in black shawl collar tuxes with silver vests and fourinhand ties, the groom will have the same in a matching red. I broke down and told him about the red dress (that way I could pull out my swatch at the store to match his tux to my dress), but we''re not telling anyone else.

Your bridesmaids are really lucky--that''s an amazing dress you chose for them!

I just had to drop in to admire your gorgeous dress again...

I love your maids dresses, too. They can definitely be worn again, but there''s just one little thing. As others have said, your gown is beautiful, and I think the red makes it look even more regal and formal than it would in white. So while I like the maids'' dresses, they seem a little too casual for your dress. Not that they need to be equally formal. Oh, I don''t know. Maybe I''ll just hush now.

I absolutely agree, the gals dresses aren''t formal enough. I hated everything I saw in the BM section at the bridal shop, and I just couldn''t stand making them spend much money (a few REALLY don''t have it- mind you all the attendants either in college, graduating the week before the wedding, or graduated within the last two years, ages 21-24 at the time of the wedding), and they''re already having to come to Louisville for me from NY, AZ, AL, etc. I plan to jazz them up a little by find really nice silver wraps and crystal broaches. My dress is way to formal for the rest of my wedding anyway, so it''s not them that''ll look out of place, it''ll be me and the guys in the tuxes! I''m trying to get the guests to be semi-formal, but that''ll even be pushing it with this crowd (mostly very informal family members plus some of our college friends, we''re not exactly what you would call ''high class'').

This was my one chance in life to get dressed up fancy like this, so I''m gonna go for it. Besides, if my wedding had a theme, it would be called ''unconventional''.
