Hi all,
My bf and I recently went ring shopping, and I--like so many others--fell in love with the Lucida ring at Tiffany. I have read around on here, and some other sites to try to find some good information about ways to get an equally good (or better) diamond for less money, but what I am most concerned about is the setting. I tried on lots of rings when we went shopping, and the types of settings that I thought I would love (I always had wanted the princess cut with bagettes--but the simple Lucida blew that one away!), so I am concerned about actually liking the ring once I put it on, even if I love the picture itself.

I saw a few whiteflash settings that seem very nice--and hopefully I will be able to get the Lucida out of my mind--but I don''t live in Texas, so I was wondering how other people went about checking out the whiteflash settings, and deciding which ones were for them. Do you just buy and hope it works out--knowing that you can return?? I would much rather prefer to compare the settings side by side and see which I would like the best.

Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi there...
Not sure if this will help, but if it's the Lucida setting you really liked take a look at Vatche's xprong setting. You could get the setting for either round or square shaped stones... I'm not sure if Whiteflash carries Vatche, but they are great to work with... do a search for Vatche/lucida etc and you should find a lot here. I worked with Good Old Gold and they were wonderful (and they carry Vatche)

Good Old Gold might be able to ship the setting/stock piece so that you could see it? Or Whiteflash might do something like that...

MoneyP, maiyavel''s suggestion to consider the Vatche setting is a good one. We do carry Vatche, and we can tell you that setting is quite popular.

Thank you for pointing that out. Is there any way to try on the Vatche ring if I live in Cambridge before deciding on a purchase? The "fine line" and "legato" also look promising, and I would love to compare them before picking one.

As far as trying on the Vatche, check out this link of Vatche retailers from their site. Call one of them up and ask if they have it in stock for you to try.
